Has anyone taken their DSLR through airport security recently?

I'm leaving for the East Coast in the morning; I've looked through the TSA and SFO sites, and I'm still a bit confused (no surprises there).

It sounds like they want you to put your camera into a separate bin for scanning, but you aren't allowed to put anything underneath. Does anyone know if the lens can remain attached to the camera body? I'm a bit paranoid about having the lens off of the body, and possibly rolling around inside the bin during inspection; also, having someone manhandle the equipment.

Any answers? I tried calling the TSA office at SFO, but no one picked up.

Bridge.

One of these days I'll shock everyone and post a photo taken from the Marin side. It's just that Vista Point is often crowded, and Ft. Point not so much.

Edit: the first shot is the original, the next three are crops from it.

Edit again: GAH! 3 & 4 are cropped from #1! If I have such a thing as workflow, it doesn’t function well on a couple of hours sleep.

(Sigh)...ok, I’ve lost complete track of which was cropped from the first one, and which wasn’t. I’m getting a beer and calling it an evening...
