words of wisdom from the church of the FSM

http://www.venganza.org/about/

**I’m all for pointed criticism and humor at the expense of too-powerful religious institutions, but that is a very different thing than declaring someone is stupid for being religious. I’m strongly against simple intentional offense just for the sake of offending – I believe it makes the larger problem worse, causes everyone to entrench in their views, and gives ammunition to opponents. I have no say in the broader non-religious movements, but I don’t want FSM seen as cynical and negative. This is very important to me.**

**Nonbelievers would be better off criticizing only on the negative, damaging parts of religion, and being less judgmental about the idea of religion in general. Nonbelievers get hung up asking for evidence when really we should be looking at why does religion thrive despite evidence? We should be pushing the idea that faith is not equivalent to evidence-based-reasoning without insisting that it’s inferior, only that they are different ways of seeing the world. And that the problems happen when these world views clash. **

**To outsiders it makes us hard to define, but here are some general things that can be said about our beliefs:

We believe pirates, the original Pastafarians, were peaceful explorers and it was due to Christian misinformation that they have an image of outcast criminals today
We are fond of beer
Every Friday is a Religious Holiday
We do not take ourselves too seriously
We embrace contradictions (though in that we are hardly unique)**

I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY

I'm moving to the Mt. Pleasent / Summerville area of SC in june.

I'm getting back to civilization.

8 years ago I left Metro Detroit to marry the only woman I have ever loved unconditionally..and have lived on a mountain in the middle of BFE nowhere ever since.

In June we are moving to Summersville SC ..a few minutes from the beach and a few minutes from an actual city

We looked on wiki...450 restaurants within 20 miles...84 golf courses..tons of stuff to do..museums ..art gallery's..concerts

OMG..I'm moving back to a city...does happy dance

Is there any change my handle please protocol people who's name no longer meets there situation can appeal to?

On edit:

so I'm going to need a new handle..help me out here

backwoodsbob is moving in June !!!!!!

Transferring to About ten miles from the beach in South Carolina...absolutely beautiful part of the country.

My company has a plant there and they already approved the transfer and the wifes company (verison wireless)agreed to transfer her too.

We will live in summersville..a snowbird enclave from what I have seen that is..at worst..a moderate enclave.

ONLY PROBLEM..I won't be backwoodsbob any more.

Need ideas for a new handle

On edit: and of course...being 45 miles from Myrtle Beach and right on the ocean...DU'ers are welcome to crash...for the right amount of beer tribute

Edit 2: I'm thinking beachbumbob
