Abbreviations, Abbreviations and more Abbreviations. Not everone knows their meanings.

Yes, some of us know the meanings of the abbreviations that people use at DU. (Democratic Underground) But we see new ones all the time that are hard to figure out. I saw one today (PBO), and couldn't figure that one out. I just looked that up, and pbo has to do with lead oxide, or some baseball organization in Palos Hills Illinois.. ( check out those letters, ... pbo)..

...It turns out that PBO stands for President Barack Obama. I hadn't seen that one, but there are many that people don't know. Never assume that everyone knows the meaning of whatever abbreviation you use. If you got this far, I thank you for reading this. Today is Feb. 15, 2020...(Feb. stands for February)

Trump said,"I have a bad taste for the U.S. Intelligence Community because of Russian Investigation"

You really can't make this up. (paragraphs 3 &4, at link below, posted,Thu Feb 13, 2020, 10:35 PM, last night)

"Here's my choice: I deal with the Comeys of the world, or I deal with Rudy," Trump said, referring to former FBI Director James Comey. Trump explained that he has "a very bad taste" of the US intelligence community, because of the Russia investigation, so he turned to Giuliani.

"So when you tell me, why did I use Rudy, and one of the things about Rudy, number one, he was the best prosecutor, you know, one of the best prosecutors, and the best mayor," Trump said. "But also, other presidents had them. FDR had a lawyer who was practically, you know, was totally involved with government. Eisenhower had a lawyer. They all had lawyers."

Think about it for moment. The President of the United States has a "bad taste" for our own "US intelligence community....(of which he is in charge of, as Commander in Chief)

With total respect, Bernie supporters haven't got a clue. I know because I supported McGovern

...We thought that because George McGovern had the "right ideas" he had a chance to become President of the United States. So I worked for him, wrote essays for him, went door to door for him. The whole thing. I even met with the McGovern campaign chief for my state. It didn't matter. Nothing mattered. McGovern lost and lost big.
...Nixon- ..................................................................McGovern
Electoral vote?: ?520............................................................17
States carried?: ?49...............................................................1 plus DC
Total votes....47,168,000 million................................................29,173,000 million
Percent of vote 60% .............................................................37%
....Bernie is exactly the same. He will lose big. It is too late to change Bernie's personification. It is what it is, and he is what he is. He will lose big if he is our nominee. I hate to say this, but Bernie is NOT our strongest candidate. He is our weakest candidate. Oh, you don't have to agree with this, because you don't know, Bernie evokes a radical personification of our ideas. He sits wrong with people. He cannot change this, he is who he is. Forget Bernie, go for someone who can win, and believe me, Bernie cannot win. His ideas may be correct. But Bernie as a candidate is a sure loser.

Susan Collin's career is indeed doomed!!. She is NO INDEPEDENT. That is a total lie.

... SHE IS DOOMED!!. Collins has always stood up as an independent Republican, who stands by conscience.

That crap is over for good. Collins stood by that for many years. That is a fucking lie. She is a suck up just as she always has been. But this time, everyone sees it as clearly as Trump is a liar. Collins chose money over conscience. She is a suck up of the worst kind. She claims she isn't, but that is a lie. She is a liar worse than Trump. Trump never claimed to be anything else. Collins claimed to be "independent". She is no more "independent" than any of the other Trump suck ups.

"Time lost can never be regained--not for love nor money." Sydney J. Harris, Chicago Sun Times.80s?

Sydney J. Harris was a columnist at the Chicago Sun Times, & Chicago Daily News...I clipped this article from the 80s, date unkown, from the Sun, Times. It makes just as much sense now, as it did then. I would like to share this with you. I believe this is a very special column.

"Time lost can never be regained--not for love nor money."

I have always dislike the phrase, Time is money." That is the last thing that time is, for it is irreplaceable, and not all the money in the world can bring it back or halt it or reverse it.

....Actually, time is love. People who are always in a hurry, who have no time for anything except the most important matters, fail to understand the nature and needs of love.

...Many a man in our society imagines that he is "supporting" his family by working long hours, attending innumerable meetings and traveling incessantly. But through his motives may be good, his reasoning is faulty.

...No amount of material goods can serve as an effective substitute for time spent with loved ones. The most "neglected" children are not those of the poor, but those of the rice--or those trying to get there. There are no presents as important as presence.

...We have become victims of time. Our schedules are running us, instead of our running them. While it is true that people in the Middle Ages worked many longer hours than we do, a third of the days in a year were devoted to holidays when families were together.

...Time is love in other ways as well--the time we spend with the old, the infirm, the time a doctor spends with a patient, the time a teacher spends with a student in special needs of help, the time a pastor devotes to the personal needs of his flock. In all these areas, all of us are guilty of being dominated by the clock, of rationing our time so that everyone is "taken care of," but no one is really cared for...............

...
...Children of course at the most injured by our obsessive delusion that time is money. Fathers will spend weeks alienated from their children, and imagine that an afternoon's fishing experience or trip to the zoo makes up for this neglect.

..It would be more realistic to turn the proverb around and say, "money is time"-- that the best thing that money can do for you is buy the time to demonstrate your love by your company, your interest, your concern and your pleasure.

...Of course, I recognize that there are millions of broken families where this is hard or impossible, and that millions of mothers with young children must work in order to meet the families bills. But I wonder how many of these might still be together if the father had not put his job before his parental responsibilities. If the mother had not gone to work for reasons other than financial need..

...Time is love, above all else. It is the most precious commodity in the world, and should be lavished on those we care about the most about When it is not, retribution is swift and certain and there is no turning back the clock.......(end of column)

Why We Should Never Give Up.

In 72 Democrats lost by tremendous margin to that crook Nixon. McGovern did not have a good campaign, and I worked in that one. I think we won only one state in that election, but we did not give up.
... By the next election, 4 years later, 76, Nixon was gone, he resigned, and we had a Democrat in the White House, Jimmy Carter. We do not give up. Please do not give up. We must never give up.
