Ferris State University professor on leave following controversial COVID-19 comments
BIG RAPIDS, Mich. Ferris State professor Thomas Brennan is on administrative leave because of remarks made about COVID-19 on his Twitter account.
"I just have to speak out, to try to speak my conscience," says Brennan. 'I can't be silent and watch this happen."
Screenshots taken by The Torch show Brennan referring to COVID-19 as a "stunt" to create "a leftist new world order".
"I did say some hyperbolic things to draw attention to what it is I wanted to say," explains Brennan.
This includes using the n-word, which Brennan calls "an atomic word", he used to make people listen.
"I didn't use it lightly," says Brennan. "But we're heading towards such a crescendo of madness where we're about to all be enslaved because of this COVID crisis."
He does believe COVID-19 is real, however says masks and vaccines are created to control the masses.
"Putting a muzzle over our face is actually a dehumanizing and satanic ritual," says Brennan

Feinstein won't seek top Judiciary Committee spot following complaints from progressive
Source: LA Times
WASHINGTON
Sen. Dianne Feinstein will not pursue leadership of the high-profile Senate Judiciary Committee or any other committee next year, taking a dramatic step back following pressure from progressives who questioned her willingness to use tough, partisan politics to confirm Biden administration Supreme Court picks and other judicial nominations.
California is a huge state confronting two existential threats wildfire and drought that are only getting worse with climate change. In the next Congress, I plan to increase my attention on those two crucial issues, Feinstein said in a statement. I also believe that defeating COVID-19, combating climate change and protecting access to healthcare are critical national priorities that require even more concentration.
Feinstein, 87, is currently the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary committee and was in line to become its first female chairman if Democrats take control of the Senate.
But the majority wont be decided until two Senate seats in Georgia go to a runoff in January. Democrats will need to win both of those races to gain control of the Senate and with it, the power to confirm Bidens judicial appointments.

Georgia passes new rules for Jan. 5 Senate runoff
The first rule extends the use of secure, monitored, drop boxes that will be available 24/7 through the Jan. 5 runoff. Voters can use these drop boxes to deliver their absentee ballots a rule that was also in place during Novembers general election. Counties are required to use video surveillance to monitor the drop boxes for security.
The second rule will require counties to begin processing absentee ballots one week and a day before election day. While this new rule makes it clear that counties have to start scanning absentee ballots a week and one day before election day, none of the absentee ballots are tabulated until the polls close on Jan. 5, per Georgia law. Georgias larger counties are authorized to start processing and scanning absentee ballots two weeks in advance of Jan. 5.
The five-member election board is chaired by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. According to his office, at least 762,000 absentee ballots have been requested for Januarys Senate runoff so far.
