Man Sues after New Orleans Demands He Take Down Anti-Trump Mural

Source: Newsweek

When Neal Morris commissioned his friend to paint an anti-Donald Trump mural on the side of his warehouse, the real estate developer figured the finished product might cause a stir in his community—it would, after all, spell out the controversial words President Donald Trump uttered in the infamous "Access Hollywood" leak.

He just didn’t expect to be threatened with jail time over it.

That’s exactly what happened, according to a lawsuit filed this week by Morris and the American Civil Liberties Union. Soon after word of the mural spread in November, Morris said the New Orleans Department of Safety and Permits sent him a violation that threatened “a maximum file or jail time for each and every day the violation continues plus court costs.”

Morris was incredulous is because, unlike its source material, the mural itself doesn’t include any profanity. Cartoon images supplant the more vulgar words Trump uses in the tape.

I don't want to speculate about Don Jr.'s divorce, but I can definitely say that an ancient witch has his soul trapped in a fart jar.

Moscow warns of retaliation against Britain's measures over spy poisoning

Source: France 24/AFP

MOSCOW (AFP) -

Moscow warned on Thursday it was preparing to retaliate against the "irresponsible" expulsion of its diplomats from London, as Britain urged its allies to take a stand against Russia over the poisoning of a former spy.

The escalating international scandal is unfolding as former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia remain in critical condition after exposure to the Soviet-designed chemical Novichok on March 4 in the British city of Salisbury.

Britain on Wednesday said it would expel 23 Russian diplomats and suspended high-level contacts over the poisoning, which it has blamed on Russia.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said Russia could be directly responsible or may have "lost control" of the nerve agent. She had given Moscow until midnight Tuesday to disclose details of the Novichok programme to the international Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

Etowah sheriff pockets $750k in jail food funds, buys $740k beach house

Source: Al.com

In September, Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin and his wife Karen purchased an orange four-bedroom house with an in-ground pool and canal access in an upscale section of Orange Beach for $740,000.

To finance the purchase, Entrekin got a $592,000 mortgage from Peoples Bank of Alabama, according to public real estate records. The home is one of several properties with a total assessed value of more than $1.7 million that the couple own together or separately in Etowah and Baldwin counties.

Some Etowah County residents question how a county sheriff making a five-figure annual salary can afford to own multiple houses, including one worth nearly three-quarters of a million dollars.

But ethics disclosure forms Entrekin filed with the state reveal that over the past three years he has received more than $750,000 worth of additional "compensation" from a source he identified as "Food Provisions."

Sister Of Charleston Shooter Dylann Roof Arrested After Menacing Social Media Post

Source: NPR

The younger sister of convicted mass murderer Dylann Roof — who gunned down nine parishioners at a Charleston church in 2015 — was arrested Wednesday on drug and weapons charges after she posted a disturbing message on social media.

Morgan Roof, 18, a student at AC Flora High School in Columbia, was charged with one count of marijuana possession and two counts of carrying a weapon on school grounds, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said, describing the weapons as a knife and pepper spray, according to The State newspaper.

...

Roof's arrest came after she reportedly posted a message to Snapchat saying that she hoped students participating in Wednesday's walkout of classes to protest gun violence would "get shot" and suggested that only "black people" would be participating in the nationwide protests.

"Your walking out of the allowed time of 17min, they are letting you do this, nothing is gonna change what tf you think it's gonna do? I hope it's a trap and y'all get shot we know it's fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway," she posted.
