Help make America great again:

This isn’t a scene from a hundred years ago. This is right now, in front of the Hillsborough, NC Courthouse. Contemporary racism erupts in our backyard.

Joe Walsh announces Republican challenge to Trump

Source: The Hill

Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) on Sunday announced he would mount a primary challenge to President Trump.

The conservative radio host unveiled his campaign on ABC's "This Week."

"We've got a guy in the White House who is unfit, completely unfit to be president and it stuns me that nobody stepped up, nobody in the Republican Party stepped up, because I'll tell you what George, everybody believes in the Republican party, everybody believes he's unfit," Walsh told ABC's George Stephanopoulos. "He lies every time he opens his mouth."

Walsh was elected to the House in 2010 as part of the Tea Party wave and served one term. He began as a strong supporter of President Trump but over the past year has emerged as a fierce critic of the president. On Sunday he apologized for his own past racist and sexist tweets and "personal" criticism of former President Obama, acknowledging the role it played in creating today's politics.

President Trump expresses regret over trade war with China, then claims he was 'misinterpreted'

Source: USA Today

BIARRITZ, France — President Donald Trump signaled Sunday that he may be having regrets over his trade war with China, but the White House backtracked a few hours later and said he had been misunderstood.

At a breakfast meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Trump said “yeah” when a reporter asked if he was having second thoughts about how the trade conflict with China has escalated.

“I have second thoughts about everything,” he said.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham later issued a statement seeking to clarify Trump's comments and suggesting the only thing he regrets is not placing higher tariffs on Chinese goods.

Former Apprentice contestant ranks Trump next to Mother Teresa on women's issues

Former “Apprentice” contestant Tana Goertz said in recent interview that only Mother Teresa comes to mind when she thinks of who has done more for women than President.

In an brief interview with one of CBS News’ 2020 campaign reporters, Adam Brewster, Goertz was asked about how the Trump campaign can regain some of the support from female voters who previously voted for the president in 2016 and then Iowa Rep. Cindy Axne (D), who bested then-incumbent GOP Rep. David Young in 2018.

“If Donald Trump was running we would have never lost anything. So, there’s different candidates running that don’t have the power that Donald Trump has and the pull, so I can’t speak for why – that’s kind of, that one’s like comparing apples and oranges,” said Goertz, who currently works a senior employee for the Trump campaign in Iowa, according to the Rolling Stone.

“So, let’s move beyond that because Cindy Axne, you know, she won,” Goertz said before laughingly asking the reporter to “leave that out” after a brief pause.

Unwittingly, more right than wrong. Mother Teresa was a horrible person.

Ronan Farrow has a new book coming out:

In a dramatic account of violence and espionage, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Ronan Farrow exposes serial abusers and a cabal of powerful interests hell-bent on covering up the truth. At any cost.

In 2017, a routine network television investigation led Ronan Farrow to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

All the while, Farrow and his producer faced a degree of resistance they could not explained-until now. And a trail of clues revealed corruption and cover-ups from Hollywood to Washington and beyond.

This is the untold story of the exotic tactics of surveillance and intimidation deployed by wealthy and connected men to threaten journalists, evade accountability, and silence victims of abuse. And it’s the story of the women who risked everything to expose the truth and spark a global movement.

Both a spy thriller and a meticulous work of investigative journalism, Catch and Kill breaks devastating new stories about the rampant abuse of power and sheds far-reaching light on investigations that shook the culture.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Treated Again For Cancer

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has just completed three weeks of radiation treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, the U.S. Supreme Court disclosed Friday.

The radiation therapy, conducted on an outpatient basis, began Aug. 5, shortly after a localized cancerous tumor was discovered on Ginsburg's pancreas. The treatment included the insertion of a stent in Ginsburg's bile duct, according to a statement issued by the court.

Doctors at Sloan Kettering said further tests showed no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. The treatment comes just months after Ginsburg was operated on for lung cancer last December. The 86-year-old justice has battled cancer in various forms over the last 20 years.

"Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg today completed a three-week course of stereotactic ablative radiation therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City," a statement from the Supreme Court read. "The focused radiation treatment began on August 5 and was administered on an outpatient basis to treat a tumor on her pancreas. The abnormality was first detected after a routine blood test in early July, and a biopsy performed on July 31 at Sloan Kettering confirmed a localized malignant tumor.

"As part of her treatment, a bile duct stent was placed. The Justice tolerated treatment well. She cancelled her annual summer visit to Santa Fe, but has otherwise maintained an active schedule. The tumor was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. Justice Ginsburg will continue to have periodic blood tests and scans. No further treatment is needed at this time."
