Neil Freeman redrew the state borders to get a visual sense of what it would take for the electoral college votes to match the popular vote. That is to say, for each state to be weighted evenly.

"The largest state is 66 times as populous as the smallest," Freeman explains on his site, "and has 18 times as many electoral votes."

His map is based on 2010 Census data, which records a population of 308,745,538 for the United States. Divided up among 50 states, that's a population of a little over six million people per state. The names of new states are mostly taken from geographical features.

Honolulu, Hawaii (CNN)A Secret Service agent's gun, badge, radio, handcuffs and flash drive were stolen in broad daylight Monday near the agency's headquarters in Washington, according to a police report and sources briefed on the incident.

The agent's belongings were taken from his personal vehicle while it was parked on G Place in downtown Washington around 4 p.m. ET.

A report filed with the Metropolitan Police Department several hours later describes the agent returning to his car and noticing the back rear window of his car had been "unzipped." The report says the agent noticed "a bag with the listed property was taken out of the vehicle."

The report lists a black Sig Sauer handgun, an APX6000 radio, handcuffs, a USB flash drive, a black Patagonia bag and a Secret Service badge, number 1266, as the stolen items.

The agent, who isn't named in the report but who a source said works in the Presidential Protective Division, saw a person reaching into the vehicle, the report states, "but didn't see him take anything out."

The incidents illustrate the emerging threat that social media poses to patient privacy and, at the same time, its powerful potential for capturing transgressions that previously might have gone unrecorded. Abusive treatment is not new at nursing homes. Workers have been accused of sexually assaulting residents, sedating them with antipsychotic drugs and failing to change urine-soaked bed sheets. But the posting of explicit photos is a new type of mistreatment — one that sometimes leaves its own digital trail.

In February 2014, a nursing assistant at Prestige Post-Acute and Rehab Center in Centralia, Wash., sent a co-worker a Snapchat video of a resident sitting on a bedside portable toilet with her pants below her knees while laughing and singing.

The following month, one nursing home assistant at Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles, Ill., recorded another using a nylon strap to lightly slap the face of a 97-year-old woman with dementia. On the video, the woman could be heard crying out, “Don’t! Don’t!” as she was being struck. The employees laughed.

And this February at Autumn Care Center in Newark, Ohio, a nursing assistant recorded a video of residents lying in bed as they were coached to say, “I’m in love with the coco,” the lyrics of a gangster rap song (“coco” is slang for cocaine). Across a female resident’s chest was a banner that read, “Got these hoes trained.” It was shared on Snapchat.

The woman’s son told government inspectors that his mother, who had worked as a church secretary for 30 years, would have been mortified by the video. Days after the incident, the home changed hands and is now known as Price Road Health and Rehabilitation Center. Greystone Healthcare Management, its new owner, said it “provides extensive, on-going training, support and oversight to insure that we provide patient centered care.” (The prior owner, Steve Hitchens, said the incident happened days before the home was sold and he does not recall details.)

It stated that under a contract between the DNC and the Sanders campaign, pertaining to the data system’s use, formal notice in writing is required if either side believes the other has violated the rules on privacy. Additionally, each side is supposed to be allowed 10 days to address any concerns.

“The DNC may not suspend the Campaign’s access to critical Voter Data out of haste or desperation to clean up after the DNC’s own mistakes,” the suit says.

What’s important to know is this: Whether you are for Bernie or Hillary, the fault ultimately is with the DNC and their chosen vendor for not resolving the issue when it was first reported. To make matters worse, the DNC rushed to apply a draconian punishment for the resulting breach. It’s also important to know that the DNC cut off Sanders from his own data, not just from a generic DNC list, essentially taking his campaign’s private data hostage.

The DNC wanted to have people held accountable for misconduct, and while that is fair, will they be applying the same level of punishment to their leadership for the mishandling of this whole fiasco?

In 2009, only 10 months after Donna's attack, she came upon an abandoned puppy in a park in North Carolina who had been beaten, burned and was close to death. The 8-week-old pit bull mix, later named Susie, had her jaw broken and all her teeth knocked out, all because she had licked the face of her owners baby, according to a press release sent to The Dodo. Her final punishment? Susie was set on fire and left to die.

When Donna found Susie with burns covering over 60 percent of her body, she realized that this kind of abuse is the reason dogs lash out in the first place.

And so, she decided to do something about it.

Despite a veterinarian's recommendations that Susie be put down, Donna raised the funds needed for her surgery and later welcomed her into her home, much to the shock of her friends and family. Together, Donna and Susie helped to pass a law in North Carolina called Susie's Law which demands stricter punishments for animal abusers.

Three weeks ago the City of Chicago released dash camera footage of police shooting Laquan McDonald 16 times, killing him. In Baltimore the first trial is underway in the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old who died after suffering a spinal injury while in police custody. Sandra Bland was found dead in her Texas jail cell after she was arrested for a minor traffic violation. Eric Garner said, “I can’t breathe” 11 times as New York police held him in an illegal chokehold; he was declared dead an hour later. A police officer fatally shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice in a Cleveland park when he allegedly mistook Rice's toy gun for the real thing. Walter Scott died in North Charleston when a police officer shot him as he ran away during a traffic stop for a broken taillight.

Other black Americans killed by police in the past two years include: John Crawford III in Dayton, Ohio, Ezell Ford in Florence, California, Rekia Boyd in Chicago, Illinois; Akai Gurley in Brooklyn, New York, Tanisha Anderson in Cleveland, Ohio and the list goes on.

Last fall after the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, Lonnie Bunch, the director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, assembled his staff.

How should the museum respond, he asked. Recognizing the historical and cultural significance of these incidents of police brutality and the public’s unapologetic response to them, Bunch charged the museum’s curators and specialists with the task of documenting the Black Lives Matter movement. They needed to collect artifacts and ephemera of the campaign, which was founded online by three black women in 2012.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has issued a formal complaint against the Oakland County judge who sent three children to juvenile detention for refusing to have lunch with their estranged father, ordering the two youngest children to be handcuffed and led out of the courtroom.

The complaint issued Monday night against Circuit Court Judge Lisa O. Gorcyca accuses her of misconduct in her handling of the protracted custody battle involving the minor children of Maya Eibschitz-Tsimhoni of Bloomfield Hills and Omer Tsimhoni and of making false statements to the Judicial Tenure Commission in her response to the body's initial inquiry.

The complaint alleges the judge ridiculed the children in court last June 24, comparing the oldest boy to being a member of mass murder Charles Manson's cult at one point, while circling her index finger around her temple, as if indicating he was crazy. The complaint says Gorcyca "failed to act in a patient, dignified and courteous manner" and made "significant misrepresentations of law and fact."

Gorcyca has 14 days to respond to the Judicial Tenure Commission complaint.
