No Questions About Climate Change at GOP Debate Sponsored by Big Oil
The Republican presidential candidates were asked about the Super Bowl but not the future of the planet Saturday night there were no questions about climate change or global warming in the debate in St. Anselm College in New Hampshire.
Angelo Carusone, who works for pro-Hillary Clinton groups American Bridge and Media Matters, offered one possible reason why:
The debate was sponsored by Big Oil:
Vote4Energy is a campaign of the American Petroleum Institute, the fossil fuel industrys enormously powerful lobbying and trade association.

Our candidates, on race:
In the last debate, Sanders addressed race on three occasions: 1) asked about the death penalty, he noted that innocent people of color are more likely to find their way to death row; 2) asked about our criminal justice system, he made sure to include in his answer the fact that we incarcerate mostly people of color; and 3) when responding to the Flint disaster, he asked a type of question rarely heard from a Presidential candidate: what would have happened if Flint's population was middle class and white?
Clinton said absolutely nothing about race. Well, almost nothing.
At the debate's conclusion, with the last question answered, Clinton wondered aloud why there weren't opportunities to talk about race.

Bristle away, Holder...it is pretty obvious to most people what was going on.
Eric Holder, who now defends corporate clients, is featured in Hillary ad
Former Obama administration attorney general Eric Holder is prominently featured in a Hillary Clinton campaign ad running in South Carolina. If you want to make sure Republicans dont take us backward, help Hillary move us forward, Holder says.
Meanwhile, in his post-public service life as a partner with white-collar defense firm Covington & Burling, Holder is upholding his Justice Departments tradition of negotiating lower fines for corporate offenses, albeit from the other side of the negotiating table.
During his Justice Department leadership, Holder specialized in negotiating settlements with corporations. The Justice Department issued a record number of deferred prosecution and non-prosecution agreements, allowing corporations charged with misconduct to buy their way out of trouble without jail time or clawed-back bonuses.
Holder defended corporations at the firm before becoming attorney general, and immediately returned there at the end of his tenure, calling it home for me. A year earlier, he purchased a condo that sits 300 feet from Covington & Burlings new headquarters in Washington.
The firm even held open a corner office in that new building for Holder while he was a sitting attorney general, while he negotiated settlements with Covington & Burling clients.
But Holder bristles at the suggestion that there might be a connection between his current employer and his conduct at Justice.

Oregon standoff suspect Jon Ritzheimer denied bail in Phoenix
Breaking news site.
He was the one on the video complaining about all the dildos being mailed in.
Worth it just to watch him waving a big one in the air.

One of my generic drugs went from 10.00 to 160.00!
10.00 for 90 day supply in JUuly
160.00 for same today.
I did not buy it, it is not absolutely essential, but it is very helpful.
We have to do something about this price gouging.
That smug bastard Shkreli is only the tip of the iceberg.

UPDATE: Reuters now says 16 indicted, but no additional names yet known.
Bundy, 9 others indicted by federal grand jury
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) A federal grand jury has indicted the leader of the armed standoff at an Oregon wildlife refuge and his followers.
Federal prosecutor Geoff Barrow says the indictment involves the 11 people arrested so far and others, perhaps a reference to the four holdouts still occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
The FBI arrested Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Brian Cavalier, Shawna Cox, Ryan Payne, Joseph OShaughnessy, Peter Santilli, Duane Ehmer, Jason Patrick and Dylan Anderson on probable cause. Six were arrested during a traffic stop along Hwy 395, others arrested at or near the refuge.
Arizona resident Jon Ritzheimer was also arrested in connection to the occupation but remains in custody in Arizona.
Each has been charged with one felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation or threats.

The guy decided he did not have to respond to Congressional request that he be at the hearing.
I do hope they nail him.

Clinton now has 385
Bernie has 29
counting Iowa
New Hampshire ( winner take all) = 24 delegates. Feb. 9
On March 1, several states vote in Primary for a total of 865 delegates.
There is an excellent table of delegate counts per state at this link, I cannot make it copy onto this page
(but if someone can....)
One table for Dems, one table for Repubs.
