On Hillary and Elvis
Now...some people wonder if people who criticize Hillary or praise another candidature simply hate Hillary. Now, I am sure there are people who may fit the stereotype, people who never liked her, never will like her, and who are blind to virtues, just as some felt and feel that way about Obama.
However, some of us, even if we do not LOVE Hillary, want her to succeed. Some of us are even happy as hell and giving her praise she made leftward moves like Keystone and prosecuting Drug price gouging Overlords, moves that Lloyd Blankfeld nor Mark Penn are probably happy about. The reason I mentioned Elvis is because of "love." Many people LOVED Elvis, and they genuinely thought they were helping him, because they really did want him to become the biggest thing ever. Some people helped him get the pills he wanted, and in many case, really did need because of his pain. Some people kept dying his hair black, even though his body was revealed to have prematurely white hair thanks to stress. Some have him the fatty food, the cocaine, and some kept booking him on tour because they wanted him to get back to the top of the charts. In addition to those who did mean him well, there were some that knew they would prosper regardless of how much tragedy happened. He had Col. Tom Parker, who got most of the money.
Of course, like many before, and many since, Elvis got too much of what he wanted, and too little of what he needed. How is this like Hillary, because, to be honest, those who "Love" Hillary might be killing her chances by making sure she maintains her bad habits and keeps around her own warm of exploiters who will frankly do as well with her campaign alive or dead. Am I calling Mark Penn in 2008 her Col. Tom Barker...yes, because just as Hillary losing did not ruin his wallet or cred, so did Col Tom die a rich old man. Yes, I am calling DWS her new Tom Barker, because even if this campaign becomes her third in a series of big league FAILURES, she will go to Florida, talk to her old friends, and be just as rich and powerful as always, even MORE so with "old friends" like Marco and Jeb.
If Hillary make it, it will be as much due to the people that wanted her to get what she needs as it is due to the people who wanted to give her what she wanted. The difference being, when Elvis died, the world went on, and many of the people who used him only got richer, a pattern that repeats every time rock stars die and the people who helped run into an early grave strike it rich. We may disagree with Hillary on some things, just like many of us would not like the fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches you can buy near Graceland so you can eat like the King. However, we want to avoid another tragedy and if Hillary fails because she self destructs, and is encouraged to engage in that behavior, we will all fail, because the GOP knows they can smell our blood. They want to turn American into a cross between a Mausoleum and Am,usement park, full of Jungle Room Kitsch and made in China souvenirs.
Let's NOT go to Graceland.
when to Veep
I know some people have asked about who might be Hillary's Veep, this question is about when. When do you think Hillary will announce a Veep? IMHO, she needs to do so asap, because that will give her a bit of an edge and take the camera focus off to Trump (which frankly only helps Jeb try to do his families "look I am the moderate" act.)

I also want to know if the police have gotten involved. I know that the Police can be idiots, but if nothing else, the chain of events needs to spin into motion, so that whoever did this can go to where people who make threats online go to...JAIL..congratulations Mr. Citizen, you just made a threat using the mail system, which means the FEDS can get involved!

Why the Brady win IS about Politics
It might seem that to talk about Brady's win over the NFL is like fiddling while Rome Burns. However, I will offer that he Brady win is an example of what is wrong with this culture, and that it bleeds right into sexism, race relations, and yes, Politics.
Let's not forget the two decisions that weakened Goddell beforehand, The Ray Rice loss and the Adrian Peterson loss. Where we had Ray Rice, beat his wife on Tape where she looked like she was dead. People were Horrified, they even got this on tape! Well Goddell wanted to lower the boom on him, and lo and behold, the fans and the people who made money off those fans said no, so the suspension was overturned. Never mind that the video tape just said "you can beat your wife within an inch of her life and get away with it if you can get a crowd to support you, backed by lawyers." Then comes Adrian Peterson, whipping his toddler with an electrical cord. True enough, fans supported him, and there was money to be made off him. This brought out the nadir, as some of his defenders said "you have to understand, black parents often have to discipline their kids harder because they know white people will hit them harder if they screw up." Now, while there is truth that black people are punished much more harshly than white people, that does NOT excuse the idea that somehow, AA child abusers, or for that matter ANY, can get excused. If some white pundit said "You know black people hit their kids hard" said person would justly be ridden out of town on a rail, but people were willing to use this to defend Peterson.
Now of course, after Goddell gets neaten in these two cases, along come the Patriots, who still brag about getting caught cheating one time, get caught cheating AGAIN. Now, for those who say the punishment was too harsh, I will say that any court in the land tends to give a harsher punishment if someone was a second time offender. But lo and behold, here is this guy, who just happens to be an all-american blue eyed man, gets hauled in. Now, Goddell gets smacked again, and there is much rejoicing.
What does this mean for politics:
1) Money Money Money. Money will gladly run over principles, and people who polish their halos will bend and melt them to serve it. Money buys Bullshit, and our culture loves Bullshit, or as Bill Clinton said it: "it's better to be strong and wrong than light and right." Even the sort of bullshit that should make the strongest stomachs vomit (really Peterson, you excuse your child beating on your race, and reinforce the sort of ugly racial stereotype many AA's are SICK of?)
2) Government: what is making people cheer is that Goddell has no authority to reign in the Millionaire players and Billionaire owners. When you have a situation where any attempt to curb millionaire or Billionaire behavior is punished, you will have a mess. Remember that Baseball used to be "the national pastime" until Billionaires wanting stadiums and players using steroids soured people. Football should not be surprised if they find they are next.
3) the common fan: Simply put, as much as we common folk may think our words mean nothing, they mean everything. If we did not give these folk our coins, they would not have our dollars, dollars they use to buy weapons to steal more of our dollars. Yeah, if you are a Pats fan, I can hear you booing, but if you being a fan means you will scream to the rich : "I can and will sell out my integrity so I can be distracted from the misery you put us through for a few hours any given sunday" then congrats, you won. Enjoy your victory, but keep in mind the rest of us will be laughing about how you cheap your soul was, not even enough to buy beer for a tailgate party. That's ok, the NFL will just steal some Tax cash so that you can pay for it with the schools, roads, medical care, and other things you will not get.
Of an "enthusiasm Gap" for Hillary

Second, as I say in the piece I realize that I need, not just want, need the GOP to lose, period.
Now, on with the piece:
There have been people since well before 2008 who have wanted Hillary, and who frankly will not care what they have to do to get her. Some parts of this is "It's about time we had a woman in power" types, people who genuinely feel that this is their best shot to elect a woman. Now, even the thickest headed people would fail to understand why someone would want battles over matters like Abortion Policy or Equal Pay to be fought by someone who has been at the brunt of such problems herself, especially in a culture where there is no shortage of very "serious" men who will happily defend the way women are attacked by this society. Even on Du, we have people chime in and say things about women that they would never be as free to say about any other minority.
However, this is where politics of identity fail. I would warn that the UK and Brazil have shown an ugly fact: just because the ruler is a woman does not mean she will govern for the benefit of women. Of Thatcher, so much was been written, but even Dilma Rouseff, someone who on paper looked so great, turned out to be a major disappointment. She allowed the World Cup to ravish Brasil, starve women and children, and plans to do the same in the Olympics, not to mention allowed many of her corrupt friends to steal. This was the former revolutionary, openly LGBT person who was going to help re-define the post cold war era. We need principles, not identity, as sadly many woman politicians will prove just as harmful as the males, and that is not even touching the group that the conservatives seem to have an abundant supply of, you betcha.
Then there is another type of Hillary enthusiast, less sincere, but more virulent. They are those who say they are liberal, but are really scared about the fact that many on the left are tired of liberals, namely because they have been leaning right for so long that the party's rudder snapped off! No matter how far the GOP goes to the right, many self declared "liberals" will seek that spot which is never too far from the right, thus assuring that even if the GOP wants to drive off the cliff, we will follow shortly. Sadly, the person that embodies that idea is Hillary Clinton who has defended the enemies of the left, the Military Industrial complex and Wall Street. What is worse is that when she defends these enemies of the left, she does it with a smirk, as she did when she made the "we came, we saw, he died" joke.
No one is saying she had to be Bernie, but people should not scratch their heads and wonder why great enthusiasm cannot be whipped up about someone that the left KNOWS will start working with their enemies the minute she gets in. It's is not enough that we are the ones working in the kitchen, but then we will be expected to throw ourselves into the soup, so that the Lloyd Blankfelds and Bibi Netanyahus can give Chef Hillary four stars.
And again, I know that would still be better than Chef Jeb Bush or Chef Donald Trump, but when you suddenly realize that you need ENTHUSIASM to get that one spare inch of turf that will get you over the finish line, do not yell at us and wonder where it is. I need, not want, need the GOP to lose, period, but that does not mean I will not keep my energies ready for the fight or flight I will need come January 2017, which is when Hillary's dinner patrons will start demanding their supper.
