Got into an argument with a friend about marijuana being a gateway drug.

I said it wasn't and she said it was.

I said that studies have shown that the use of marijuana is not a certainty to lead to harder drugs. There will be people where there is a link that could be shown, but that it is not as big a problem in that area as people like to believe.

I said that the war on marijuana needs to be stopped and the resources concentrated on other substances like meth. You want to give somebody a drug that's going to destroy them, give them meth.

In addition, I said that as a harmful substance, alcohol does tremendous damage. If she wnted to clean up wholesale abuse in a great number of people, that would be a start. People using any drug can cause problems. However, you rarely if ever read about destruction on the highways caused by marijuana use.

Foster Friess, rich old white guy, used to support Rick Santorum. Now he supports Romney and his Super Pacs.

Donations to the tune of $2.3 million to the Super PAC supporting Rick Santorum during Republican primaries vaulted Friess into national headlines, which he says he and his wife didn’t appreciate.

“I enjoy anonymity,” he said on Wednesday during an interview with NBC News.

He also enjoys women.

Jerry Sandusky upset over sanctions

Jerry Sandusky is distraught over the NCAA penalties issued to Penn State's football program for the school's handling of his child sexual abuse scandal and maintains his innocence as he awaits sentencing, his defense lawyer said Wednesday.

Attorney Joe Amendola told The Associated Press in a phone interview that Sandusky told him that even if people believe he is guilty of the crimes for which he was convicted in June, it would be "ridiculous" to think Penn State administrators engaged in a cover-up.

"He said, 'To do what they're doing to Penn State is so unjust,'" Amendola said. "He loves the program and he loves the university."

Amendola said Sandusky has asked county jail officials to remove him from what is effectively solitary confinement.

"He continues to believe that the truth will come out at some point, and that he'll get another trial or another opportunity to establish his innocence," Amendola said.

Romney aide loses cool, curses at press in Poland

When members of the press tried to ask Romney about some of the mishaps on his trip, his traveling press secretary Rick Gorka verbally dressed down reporters.

Here's a transcript of the questions and Gorka's response:

CNN: "Governor Romney are you concerned about some of the mishaps of your trip?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you have a statement for the Palestinians?

Washington Post: "What about your gaffes?

NYT: "Governor Romney do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?"

CNN: "Governor Romney just a few questions sir, you haven't taken but three questions on this trip from the press!

Gorka: "Show some respect"

NYT: "We haven't had another chance to ask a question..."

Gorka: "Kiss my ass. This is a Holy site for the Polish people. Show some respect."

Moments later, Gorka told Jonathan Martin, a reporter for Politico, to "shove it." About a half-hour later, the aide called reporters to apologize.
