momta's JournalI just happened to buy a couple of bottles of champagne yesterday.
Maybe I'm psychic or something, but now we have something celebrate!
From the "Can't argue with that" file.
My two college-aged kids were discussing school work. Actually, my son and I were talking while my daughter mostly ignored us, working on a school project.
My son was arguing that it feels "wrong" somehow to turn in work that you believe isn't up to your own standards, rather than miss the deadline in order to make it better. In fact, he argued that it feels "dishonorable" to do so, and he would prefer to just turn in nothing and get an "F" than to turn in something he knows is "C" quality.
"Why would you do that?" I asked. "Why would you sign up for a class, and then not turn in the work just on principle?"
Before he could answer, my daughter lifts her head and replies confidently:
"Health Insurance."
