Petitions seek to recall three BVSD board members over coronavirus precautions

Nine people are seeking to recall three Boulder Valley School District Board of Education members over concerns about decisions regarding the coronavirus pandemic, including requiring face coverings.

“I am one of many parents who have felt disrespected and ignored by Boulder Valley and, in the end, it felt like we really needed to take a stand for them to pay attention to our very legitimate concerns,” she said.

Leslie said she is also concerned about taking away parental choice.

“What it comes down to in the end is this: If a parent feels like wearing a mask in school is the safest and best thing for their child, they should have every right to do that, and if a parent feels that not wearing a mask in school is the safest and best thing for their child, they should have every right to do that,” she said.
