The charges, which include conspiracy against the United States," "conspiracy to launder money," and "false and misleading statements," among others, were unsealed on Monday morning. They come barely five months after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller as special prosecutor. And they're not expected to be the last. In addition to Manafort and Gates, Muellers team is also believed to have sufficient information to indict Mike Flynn, Trumps first national security adviser.

NJ-GOV: Murphy Leads Guadagno by 16 Points
Boston, MA The new Emerson College poll in New Jersey finds the Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy leading the Republican candidate, Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno, by 16 points 47% to 31%. This margin represents an improvement for Murphy, who led Guadagno by a smaller 11-point margin in the last Emerson College poll of the state on October 2. The poll consisted of a mixed mode online and IVR sample and has a margin of error of +/- 4.2%.
Murphys favorability rating 36% favorable/30% unfavorable is stronger than Guadagnos 27%/42% - though both are maintaining high neutral/no opinion numbers 32% and 26%, respectively indicating that, with less than two weeks until the election, many voters still need more information about the gubernatorial candidates.
One potential benefit for Murphy is the consistently sinking popularity of current New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (19% favorable/ 73% unfavorable) and an unpopular President. The poll finds Trump with an approval rating of 36% in New Jersey, down 3 points from 39% in our last poll earlier this month.

GOP lawmaker once held a knife to Boehner's throat
Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) once pinned former Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) against a wall and held a knife to his throat during a heated debate about earmarks.
John Boehner told Politico about the incident in a new profile published Sunday. The former speaker described his difficulties in banning earmarks, or measures that funded projects in lawmakers home districts.
Boehner said that Young once pinned him against a wall in the House during an argument over earmarks, and that Young held a 10-inch knife to Boehners throat.
Boehner responded by staring Young in the eyes and saying, F--- you.
Young confirmed the account as mostly true to Politico, but pointed out that he and Boehner later became such good friends that Boehner was the best man at his wedding.
This isnt the first time Young has been reported as brandishing a knife in the House; he reportedly pulled out a knife on the House floor in 1988 when a lawmaker introduced a bill that would have restricted logging in Alaska.

https://twitter.com/frankoanderson/status/924760386804617218The Owner of the Houston Texans NFL Team Called Players 'Inmates.'
A meeting Saturday night among Houston Texans players concluded with a decision to stage a major protest during the National Anthem at Sundays game against the Seattle Seahawks. The decision was triggered by Texans owner Robert McNairs comment, made with regard to ongoing player protests, that we cant have the inmates running the prison.
McNair has since apologized repeatedly for the comments, which were originally reported by ESPN. Players told ESPN today that as many as two-thirds of the teams players will kneel during the national anthem, the gesture at the center of the protest firestorm. Players said they would not remove their teams insignia or walk out of the game, two possibilities that had been floated earlier.
Referring to players as inmates was a particularly controversial moment for McNair, given the context of the protests. Beginning with quarterback Colin Kaepernick last year, players across the league have knelt during the anthem to draw attention to police brutality and racial oppression of African-Americans oppression which some argue includes the disproportionate rate at which they are incarcerated in U.S. prisons.
McNairs comments were made in the midst of intense efforts by owners to reach an agreement with players over the protests, and now appear to have seriously undermined those efforts. The protests have owners shaken because they have come along with a downward trend in the leagues TV ratings and are reportedly threatening to alienate major sponsors.
