Murdoch slams 'Jewish owned press' on Israel

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch on Saturday blasted what he called the "Jewish owned press" for their "anti-Israel" coverage.

Murdoch did not elaborate. News Corp. has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Marco Rubio takes message to Iowa

ALTOONA, Iowa — And so it begins again.

Thirty-eight months before the next presidential vote is cast, Marco Rubio on Saturday night became the first of the potential 2016 contestants to swoop in to this first caucus state and test the GOP’s new rallying cry to broaden its appeal.

Seven hundred people turned out to see the Florida senator at the annual birthday fundraiser bash for GOP Gov. Terry Branstad. Rubio had the spotlight all to himself — he said he was merely here to help the governor mark his 66th birthday, but no one believed it for a minute.

The appearance of the Republican Party’s most prominent Latino face in Iowa — a state President Barack Obama won by six points on Election Day — was no casual drop-by after the drubbing Mitt Romney took among Hispanics nationally.

Steve King doesn't rule out 2014 Senate bid

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), fresh off a hard-fought reelection battle, isn't ruling out running for the Senate in 2014.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) has not said whether he's running for reelection. King, a Tea Party favorite and strong fundraiser, could make a strong run for the seat, whether it's against Harkin or another Democrat.

"I know that’s something that is on the horizon ... but I think there are some decisions that need to be made before I could comment on that," King told local reporters.

The congressman said he is keeping his options open but doesn't "want to raise expectations unnecessarily."

Firefox no longer "protects" my IOS.

I just got a pop-up notification from my Fiefox that it no longer "protects" my current IOS X 10.5.8. Is this something I should be concerned about? I don't feel like buying a new imac to accommodate a web browser. Is there a browser that is compatable and just as effective?

George Allen Adviser Dumps On Romney’s ‘Worthless’ Virginia Operation

Boyd Marcus, a Republican consultant and senior adviser to GOP Senate candidate George Allen, criticized former presidential candidate Mitt Romney's "worthless" organization in the state of Virginia for failing to boost Allen in the final days of the campaign, the Washington Examiner reports.

"It was a lot of activity going on," Marcus said at a panel discussion in Arlington. "Most of it was pretty worthless."

Marcus also attributed Allen's loss due to a contentious debate over social issues began by the state GOP, such as women's reproductive rights.

RNC Source: Romney used even more 'grotesque' language about Latinos.

JOSH MARSHALL NOVEMBER 16, 2012, 3:26 PM 24896

I’ll spare the jokes since Jennifer Rubin was possibly the most fulsomely pro-Romney person on this planet. And the love seems to have gone, gone away. But here’s what she hears about what else Romney’s been saying about Hispanics. And it’s apparently not pretty.

From the Post …

Frankly there have been whispers at the Republican National Committee and elsewhere that Romney has used even more grotesque language, suggesting that the loss is due to Hispanic voters who have become enamored with Obamacare.

Ted Cruz: Mitt Romney ‘French-kissed’ Barack Obama

en.-elect Ted Cruz believes Mitt Romney got a little too close to Barack Obama in the third presidential debate.

“I’m pretty certain Mitt Romney actually French-kissed Barack Obama,” Cruz said in a speech at the Federalist Society’s annual conference Friday.

Cruz said that conservatives failed to make their case to the American people, leaving Romney no choice but to move toward the president. “We didn’t win the argument, we didn’t even make the argument” throughout much of 2012, Cruz said.

But in the first debate, he argued, that changed.

CNN: Priebus To Seek Re-Election As RNC Chairman

Reince Priebus will run for re-election as chairman of the Republican National Committee, CNN reports.

According to CNN, Priebus on Friday sought support from top GOP officials throughout the country. Early indications are that he is a favorite to continue as chairman.

From CNN:

Several officials familiar with the process said they think as of now Priebus has enough support to win.

"He is reaching out to members about his plans to run for re-election. He enjoys deep support on the committee, and I expect him to be re-elected with overwhelming support support (sic). At this point, no one else is making any efforts to contact RNC members about challenging Priebus," one RNC member told CNN, on the condition of anonymity.

Seriously? Tesbagger (former) friend on FB attack my son's class for voting for Obama.

Last week, my son's first grade class at his PRIVATE catholic school held a mock election where Obama won 24 votes to Romney's 2. The teacher just recently put a poster with the results in the hallway bulletin board and I thought it was so nice that I took a picture and posted it onto my Facebook page. Unfortunately, some of the teabaggers on my list are still pretty sore over election Night, because I got got replies such as "Californians.." and "Even children like to get stuff for free".

I know it's hard to lose an election. I've been there. But if you're at the point where you insults kids for the way they vote, you really need to assess how old you are compared to the way you're acting.

PPP: Republican governors highly vulnerable in PA, FL, OH and ME

Many of the Republicans who were swept into office by the wave election of 2010 may have a hard time winning a second term if 2014 doesn't prove to be another huge year for their party.

In Pennsylvania Tom Corbett trails a generic Democrat 47/37. In Maine Paul LePage trails a hypothetical opponent from the opposite party 49/41. Both of them became unpopular pretty early in their terms and have stayed that way.

Other Republicans who look highly vulnerable next time around are Florida's Rick Scott who trails a generic Democrats 48/44, and Ohio's John Kasich who leads a potential foe only 44/43. The good news for these folks at least is that their numbers have been on an upward trajectory during their second year in office- they both trailed by much wider margins at this time a year ago.

Three other Republican Governors elected in 2010 lead hypothetical Democratic opponents for 2014 by single digit margins- they look like favorites for now but could become more vulnerable. Those are Michigan's Rick Snyder (47/41 against a generic Dem), Wisconsin's Scott Walker (50/43), and Iowa's Terry Branstad (49/40). All three of these Governors posted pretty poor numbers during their first year in office but have seen significant improvement in their standing in year 2.
