Trump Internal Poll Shows Him Losing to Biden

An internal poll of 17 states taken by Mr. Trump’s campaign showed one possible opponent, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., overtaking Mr. Trump in a head-to-head contest, according to people familiar with the numbers. Mr. Trump fared better in a matchup against Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, but Mr. Trump’s low approval numbers were dragging him down against the Democrats. It was unclear whether the campaign poll-tested anyone else in the field.

NC-SEN: Former State Treasurer Janet Cowell expected to run

RALEIGH, N.C. — Multiple sources tell WRAL News they expect former State Treasurer Janet Cowell to jump into the Democratic primary for the 2020 U.S. Senate race.

Should she win, she would likely challenge Sen. Thom Tillis in the fall.

Cowell won two statewide elections for treasurer, serving from 2009 until she stepped down in 2016. Before that, she served on the Raleigh City Council and in the state Senate.

Cowell is expected to make a final decision in the coming days.

Roger Stone warrants included wire fraud.

BREAKING: the warrants on Stone named 10 different crimes, including wire fraud, which is not obvious (?, and they think the sheer range of crimes he may have committed helps with the press.

Republican lawmaker 'visibly shaken' after colleague trolls her for being a rape victim

A GOP state lawmaker who recently gave an impassioned speech about being raped as a 16 year old says she feels attacked after a Republican colleague passed out literature describing rape as a “misdeed of the parent” that doesn’t justify having an abortion.

The Spartanburg Republican who passed out the card this week, state Rep. Josiah Magnuson, acknowledged the poor word choice in an interview with The State Friday but said he wouldn’t back down from his position.

And now House leaders plan to address the dustup in a private meeting next month, reminding fellow Republicans there are rules against attacking the integrity or character of fellow House members.

State Rep. Nancy Mace, R-Berkeley, gave the speech two weeks ago, successfully persuading the House to allow exceptions for rape and incest in a proposed 6-week “fetal heartbeat” abortion ban. On Tuesday, she returned to her desk to find a card left there by Magnuson.

“It is a twisted logic that would kill the unborn child for the misdeed of the parent,” read the card, produced by Personhood SC, a group fighting for an outright abortion ban with no exceptions in South Carolina.

Mace took the message personally, since it came two weeks after her speech, and House Democrats were outraged. She blasted the card on Facebook for its use of “misdeed” to describe rape and “parent” to describe “rapist.”

I MUST have this Godzilla: King of the Monsters poster!!!

alt.right heads are going to explode over this MCU article.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Avengers: Endgame co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely commented on whether or not they intended to hint at a romance between Captain Marvel and War Machine.

After the heroes of Avengers: Endgame confront Thanos and discover he destroyed the Infinity Stones, preventing the team from using them to reverse the Mad Titan’s decimation, the film jumps ahead five years into the future. Fans later see Black Widow communicating with the team from different points in the universe via holograms and once everyone departs, Captain Marvel notably stays behind to wish War Machine “good luck,” leading some fans to believe the writers were hinting at a romance between the two heroes. While Christopher Markus did not confirm this, he did note that he is all for the movies bringing the Captain Marvel and War Machine romance from the page to screen:

“You mean when she says, ‘Good luck’ to him? I mean … You know, you can ship anything you want. We’re aware of the comic book relationship, and should things develop in the future of the MCU, I’m all for it.”

Watched the "Knocking Down the House" documentary last night and have one quibble.

AOC won her primary fair and square, but Crowley missed the first debate because he was investigating ICE’s practice of caging migrant children.

TN House Speaker outed as another family values hypocrite.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — New pictures obtained by NewsChannel 5 Investigates provide fresh insight into the close relationship between House Speaker Glen Casada and his now-former chief of staff, Cade Cothren.

The pictures show the pair, with a woman whom NewsChannel 5 is not identifying, back in April 2016 outside The Standard, a private club that bills itself as “Nashville’s private sanctuary.”

At the time, Casada was chair of the House Republican Caucus. Cothren was the caucus press secretary, reporting to Casada.

But the House Speaker has attempted to distance himself from Cothren, claiming that he did not know he was sexually pursuing interns and lobbyists. He has also denied knowing about his use of illegal drugs and his use of racist language.

Two months after the pictures were taken, Cothren sent a text to a former associate boasting that he “just did a gram of cocaine in my office.”
