One of the craziest things is that it's not over yet. Within a week the Supreme Court is going to declare that the EPA can't regulate carbon emissions, shredding federal efforts to respond to climate change.

Turkish police prevent Istanbul Pride from going ahead

ISTANBUL, June 26 (Reuters) - Turkish police blocked hundreds of people from gathering for Istanbul's annual Pride parade on Sunday and detained dozens after local authorities banned the march from going ahead again this year.

Thousands of people used to attend Pride marches on Istanbul's main Istiklal Avenue but in recent years the government led by President Tayyip Erdogan and his Islamist-rooted AK Party has toughened its stance on LGBTQ+ freedom.

Homosexuality is not a crime in Turkey, but hostility to it is widespread and the police crackdown on the parades have been increasingly tougher over the years.

On Sunday, police in riot gear prevented access to Taksim Square and blockaded many streets in the nearby Cihangir neighbourhood, where people tried convene. Public transportation in the area was also shut down.

Local authorities in the Beyoglu district banned all Pride Week events between June 20-26, saying they could lead to public unrest due to society's sensitivities.

North Dakota's only abortion clinic is preparing to move across state lines to Minnesota

CNN)The only abortion clinic in North Dakota is now preparing to move across state lines following the recent Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade.

Red River Women's Clinic, located in Fargo, has been the only provider in the state for 20 years.

They now await closure, which will leave many women in the state without care.

Clinic Director Tammi Kromenaker told CNN Saturday they are still open, for now. "The plan is to provide service as long as we legally can," Kromenaker said.

North Dakota is one of many states that have trigger laws on the books aimed to ban abortion now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned. The law will go into effect 30 days after it is certified by the state's attorney general.
