gross!
Pence said he didn't wear a mask at the Mayo Clinic because he "wanted to look the doctors in the eyes." While that sounds like he doesn't know how masks work, you have to take into account that he is a pod person. His real eyes are hidden under secret skin flaps on his cheeks.

Trump Claims His 'Talent' Or 'Luck' Saved Lives As COVID-19 Death Toll Approaches 60K
Source: TPM
April 28, 2020 1:33 p.m.
President Donald Trump patted himself on the back on Tuesday afternoon for his response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S., even as the death toll continues to climb.
When a reporter asked Trump during an appearance in the Oval Office if the intelligence community had warned him about COVID-19 in January, the President said he would have to check, then pivoted to his travel ban on China.
When I did the ban on China, almost everybody was against me, including Republicans, Trump said, pointing out that the ban was very early.
Whether it was luck, talent, or something else, we saved many thousands of lives, he added.
COVID-19 has caused approximately 56,700 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon, according to data from John Hopkins University.

Three journalists from The New York Times reviewed more than 260,000 words spoken by President Trump during the pandemic. Heres what we learned.
At his White House news briefing on the coronavirus on March 19, President Trump offered high praise for the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Stephen Hahn. Hes worked, like, probably as hard or harder than anybody, Mr. Trump said. Then he corrected himself: Other than maybe Mike Pence or me.
On March 27, Mr. Trump boasted about marshaling federal resources to fight the virus, ignoring his early failures and smearing previous administrations. Nobody has done anything like weve been able to do, he claimed. And everything I took over was a mess. It was a broken country in so many ways. In so many ways.
And on April 13, Mr. Trump insisted that governors were so satisfied with his performance they hadnt asked for anything on a recent conference call. There wasnt even a statement of like, We think you should do this or that, he said. I heard it was, like, just a perfect phone call.
The self-regard, the credit-taking, the audacious rewriting of recent history to cast himself as the hero of the pandemic rather than the president who was slow to respond: Such have been the defining features of Mr. Trumps use of the bully pulpit during the coronavirus outbreak.
The New York Times analyzed every word Mr. Trump spoke at his White House briefings and other presidential remarks on the virus more than 260,000 words from March 9, when the outbreak began leading to widespread disruptions in daily life, through mid-April. The transcripts show striking patterns and repetitions in the messages he has conveyed, revealing a display of presidential hubris and self-pity unlike anything historians say they have seen before.
By far the most recurring utterances from Mr. Trump in the briefings are self-congratulations, roughly 600 of them, which are often predicated on exaggerations and falsehoods. He does credit others (more than 360 times) for their work, but he also blames others (more than 110 times) for inadequacies in the state and federal response.
Mr. Trumps attempts to display empathy or appeal to national unity (about 160 instances) amount to only a quarter of the number of times he complimented himself or a top member of his team.
Here is what a week of the analysis looks like:

Biden just told Hillary Clinton that he would much rather be supporting her re-election bid and I almost completely lost it. Even Biden knows that none of us want to be here with him as President. Hes simply holding the front line and preparing to pass the torch. #StillWithHer

A new ad campaign from a pro-Joe Biden super PAC says President Trump's mantra of "America First" has come to fruition in one arena COVID-19 illnesses and deaths in the U.S.
The ad, dubbed "First," is set to run in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, three battleground states that were key to Mr. Trump's 2016 electoral win over Hillary Clinton. Priorities USA, an unaffiliated super PAC that supports Biden, said it is spending more than $2 million on the television and online ads for the next two weeks.
"Donald Trump said he would put America first and now he has," the ominous ad booms as images of stretchers flash across the screen, "The United States leads the world in Coronavirus cases."

Haters keep saying they hate Diamond and Silk, but you can't hate what you aint never loved! the sisters, whose real names are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, wrote on their shared Twitter account Monday evening.
Trump shared that message Tuesday morning, writing online: But I love Diamond & Silk, and so do millions of people!
The presidents social media post came after CNN reported Saturday that Fox Nation, Fox News digital streaming service, had not uploaded a new episode of Diamond and Silks weekly show since April 7, and they had not appeared on the networks broadcast since March.
Diamond and Silk, who have spoken at Trump rallies and are regulars on Fox News Fox & Friends morning show, have propagated various baseless coronavirus claims over the past month as the outbreak ravaged the United States. A Fox News spokeswoman did not immediately return a request for comment on their status with the company.
Although Fox News retains a stable of pro-Trump commentators, the president has grown increasingly frustrated with the network, despite its opinion hosts almost unflinchingly positive coverage of his administration.
.@FoxNews just doesnt get whats happening! They are being fed Democrat talking points, and they play them without hesitation or research, Trump wrote in a multi-part Twitter screed Sunday.

Schumer calls for hearings on Trump's 'abject failure at implementing' coronavirus relief
Source: the hill
By Alexander Bolton - 04/28/20 09:26 AM EDT
Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) on Tuesday blasted the Trump administration for failing to properly implement the four coronavirus relief packages passed by Congress, saying he would call on the Senate to begin oversight hearings next week.
This administration has been an abject failure at implementing most of these laws, Schumer said on MSNBCs Morning Joe on Tuesday, asserting the administration doesnt have the necessary qualified personnel and focus.
All too often it seems the presidents ego is at stake, he added.
Schumer announced that he and other Senate Democrats will send a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) demanding Senate oversight hearings for the first four coronavirus relief bills passed by Congress, including the $2.2 trillion CARES Act.
What we should do now that were coming back next week is have hearings, oversight. Haul in Dr. Birx, Dr. Fauci, Azar, and say Why isnt testing working? he said, referring to Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci, two senior health advisers to President Trump, and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar..................

Fox News host Sean Hannitys official Twitter account tweeted, then deleted, on Monday a story from his personal website that indicated he was suing the New York Times over a series of pieces which Hannity says added up to a smear campaign against him. The New York Times report which is perhaps the most offensive, Hannity says, erroneously blamed the death of a popular Brooklyn bar owner on his coverage of the novel coronavirus. The Times report has been updated since publication, but it has not been retracted as of Monday evening.
What was taken down, though, are claims likely authored by Hannitys staff which purported that Hannity actually filed a lawsuit. A document sent by Hannitys attorney to the New York Times stated that a lawsuit is very clearly imminent, but the document is merely a threat. Who is that attorney? Charles J. Eric Trump promotes 'quarantine wine'--on the same day that his dad spares visas for vineyard workers
Source: raw story
Published 6 mins ago on April 27, 2020
On the same day that President Donald Trump ordered a temporary halt on some green cards, his second son promoted Trump-branded quarantine wine on social media.
Though he initially vowed to temporarily suspend all immigration to the country, the president ultimately signed a more limited order. The ban did not suspend the visas for agricultural workers from which Trump Vineyards benefits.
The team at @TrumpWinery has you covered if your quarantine wine supply is running low! Check us out, Eric Trump wrote on Twitter. His tweet featured a bottle of Trump rosé in front of a bouquet of roses.
According to its 2017 visa application, Trump Vineyards, which the president owns, pays legal migrant laborers $0.15 per vine pruned under H2-A visas granted annually by his own administration.

Several of the presidents businesses have closed since shutdowns began in earnest last month, and his private company, the Trump Organization, even asked his own administration for a break on rent payments to its Washington hotel amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Just treat us the same, Eric told The New York Times. Whatever that may be is fine.
