There's an abundance of redundancy at DU.
One only has to scan the Latest Threads page to prove that notion. Sometimes the exact same content is posted three times a day or more. Just in the last few days, in the Video & Multimedia Forum, the exact same videos have been posted back to back and more than once.
Sometimes, the exact post is made by two different people at the same time in the same forum or group. None of these things should come as any great surprise when you consider how fast the posting rate in the General Discussion forum is alone.
There's no "peruse before you post" rule and few think to check for duplicate threads before they post. Only in LBN does the OP get a preposting prompt to look for duplicates before posting. In all other areas of DU, you're on your own.
In my reading on linguistics and communication science, I read somewhere that for a written word or phrase to be ultimately valued it should be repeated a minimum of fourteen times. I believe that's one of the reasons why in commercials there's so much repetition of product names.
So in a population of ageing Boomers, which DU appears to enjoy, I think it's a good thing to have that repetition as our memories may be becoming clouded by the passage of time. It helps us remember. ❤
All of them...
I still drive a stick, six speed. And we didn't have indoor plumbing until 1971. My grandmother raised me and we were very poor but I remember her cooking a big breakfast, with eggs, biscuits, grits, homemade sausage and coffee percolated on the stove, every day between five and six in the morning.
I also remember pumping buckets full of water that we had to heat on the (first wood, later gas) stove for baths, dishes and what not because it was the coldest water in the world from our eighty foot well. I bathed in what is called a foot tub. Our washer was the hand roller type until we got indoor plumbing. We never got a dryer.
I don't remember food stamps or any food pantries but I do remember shelling peas and butter beans and eating tomatoes fresh in the garden right off the vine. We had a good sized garden which was lots of work. I learned how to plant, hoe, weed, string up string beans and cut okra.
We had a milk cow, a laying hen that lived under a big cast iron pot and we raised our own pigs which grew to enormous sizes. They went to the slaughterhouse and into the smoke house. We also ate squirrel, rabbit, duck and deer that were either killed by my uncle or shared by neighbors.
I don't remember feeling deprived, ever. I was loved and happy and it doesn't seem that long ago. I miss my grandmother every single day.
Interesting OP. Thanks, DURHAM D.

I am asking for help. Update.
Today my four pound, 13 years old, rescue, mixed Shitzu/Chihuahua had an episode of violently coughing and vomiting up blood. She soon after had a good sized bowel movement, urinated and then she settled down with me and went to sleep for about four or five hours. I'm not sure how long it was because I went to sleep myself.
Before our naps I read opinions on line, (I know it's the dreaded "did my own research" routine) which said of course, to get her to the vet asap, keep her warm, don't stress myself out or her as a consequence and make sure she has fresh water available.
I have done everything but the vet who opens in the morning at eight. Unfortunately, the last time I had to take her in, not a single soul except for me was wearing a mask, techs, vet, receptionist, customers, NO ONE. I brought her home with a ten day course of antibiotics. Vowing never to return even though I had scheduled a ten day follow up. I sent a email the next day to cancel. This all took place just before Christmas. I'm dreading that trip if I indeed make it. I'm hoping to buy time to call around and see if I can find a vet that's taking Covid seriously.
Back to my current, dilemma. She's sniffing around where I usually feed her and appears to be hungry but she's not had anything to eat or drink since yesterday.
What can I feed her? I'm not sure if I fix her anything she'll actually eat but I would like some suggestions, please. I don't really know what to do. I know coughing up blood is very serious. I have been in a state of dread lately because I know I have a limited amount of time with her left on Earth. I've cried and cried. She's been my constant companion and when she's gone my life will be unbearable. She's been with me at work, play and home all these years and I'm so afraid of losing her.
Any suggestions or something anything? Please.
Thank you.

Update: Thanks for all of your suggestions. Turns out she has eaten almost an entire plain scrambled egg with some salt and she's been drinking water. She's a bit more active and doesn't seem like she's in pain but I know they can tolerate a lot. I will be calling the vet bright and early. Hopefully, things will continue to progress toward giving me hope. I don't know what I would do without my DU fam. Thanks again for everyone who replied.

Funding to Fix Broken Bridges Headed to NC Thanks to President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
https://www.ncdp.org/press/funding-to-fix-broken-bridges-headed-to-nc-thanks-to-president-bidens-bipartisan-infrastructure-law/North Carolina is receiving more than $91 million to repair and rebuild 1,460 bridges in poor condition in Fiscal Year 2022 and $456.8 million over five years.
The Department of Transportation today launched the historic Bridge Replacement, Rehabilitation, Preservation, Protection, and Construction Program (Bridge Formula Program), made possible by President Bidens Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Administered by the Federal Highway Administration, the program is the largest dedicated bridge investment since the interstate highway system, providing $26.5 billion to states across the country in addition to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico over five years. Tribal transportation facilities will be provided $825 million.
In North Carolina, $91.4 million will be allocated in Fiscal Year 2022 and $456.8 million over five years to repair and rebuild the 1,460 bridges in poor condition across the Tar Heel State. While the entire North Carolina Democratic congressional delegation voted to pass President Bidens Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, every Republican U.S. House Member from North Carolina opposed the historic legislation. Republican candidates for U.S. Senate Ted Budd, Pat McCrory, and Mark Walker all oppose the infrastructure investments, too.
Bridges are essential for getting North Carolinians safely to work, school and transporting goods to businesses across rural, suburban, urban, and tribal communities in our state. Unfortunately, many bridges in North Carolina today are in desperate need of repair. President Bidens Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is providing critical funding to modernize North Carolinas infrastructure for future generations. Its a shame Republicans from the U.S. House delegation in North Carolina and U.S. Senate candidates Ted Budd, Pat McCrory, and Mark Walker all opposed this vital funding, said North Carolina Democratic Party Chair Bobbie Richardson.
