'I'm not going to get into that': Caitlyn Jenner refuses to say Donald Trump lost the election
David Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement
June 10, 2021
California Republican gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner on Thursday refused to answer a very simple, fact-based question: Did Donald Trump win or lose the election?
"I want to ask you something," co-host Joy Behar asked Jenner on ABC's "The View," "something that's important for me to know. You say that you're a Republican and I'm just wondering because a lot of Republicans in this country believe that Donald Trump won the election and not Joe Biden. Are you one of those people one of those Republicans?"
Jenner refused to answer.
"I'm not going to get into that. That election is over with. I think Donald Trump did some good things and what I liked about Donald Trump is he, he was a disrupter when he was president, I want to do the same thing. I want to go in and be a thoughtful disrupter, in Sacramento. We need to change the system, and I want to change that system for the positive."

Stephen Miller whines "transgender ideology" tells kids they can be "whatever they want to be"
Donald Trump's favorite white nationalist advisor is now devoting himself to anti-LGBTQ activism, joining a lawsuit to allow a Christian management firm to fire all LGBTQ people.
By Alex Bollinger Thursday, June 10, 2021
Stephen Miller one of Donald Trumps top white nationalist advisers and the chief architect of Trumps Muslim travel ban is now focusing his attention on attacking what he called transgender ideology because it means that people are whatever they want to be and violates Americas Judeo Christian heritage.
Miller, whose leaked emails showed a long-running obsession with white nationalism, has turned his attention to LGBTQ rights and has co-founded a new organization that is already involved in a lawsuit to overturn LGBTQ anti-discrimination laws. He claims that LGBTQ people are in our elementary schools teaching young people that there are no boys and girls, men and women, but in fact, people are whatever they want to be, which has profound implications for medicine for culture, for religion, and for truth itself.
So they will be forcing religious Americans, religious believers, people of faith, to violate their deeply held beliefs, their own private conscience rights and to adopt a transgender viewpoint, Miller said on Christian Broadcasting Network reporter David Brodys web show, Real Americas Voice.
Miller was a Senior Adviser to the White House and helped write Trumps 2017 inaugural address. Hes believed to be the chief architect of the Muslim travel ban.

McConnell Doesn't Expect Manchin to Flip Parties
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said he has no expectation that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will switch parties, The Hill reports.
Said McConnell: Well, Sen. Manchin has pointed out over and over again hes been a Democrat all of his life. I am certainly not anticipating that hes going to cross the aisle.
He added: But I do admire his willingness to protect the Senate as an institution.

12:08 PM: Biden and Johnson unveil updated Atlantic Charter with focus on old principles and new threats
Upon the conclusion of their meeting, Biden and Johnson unveiled a revitalized Atlantic Charter, an update to an 80-year-old document that restates both nations commitment to the NATO military alliance but also addresses new challenges, including climate change, cyberattacks and election interference.
The original Atlantic Charter was a joint statement by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1941 that set out their goals for cooperation following World War II.
Our revitalised Atlantic Charter, building on the commitments and aspirations set out eighty years ago, affirms our ongoing commitment to sustaining our enduring values and defending them against new and old challenges, Biden and Johnson say in the new document. We commit to working closely with all partners who share our democratic values and to countering the efforts of those who seek to undermine our alliances and institutions.

President Biden has promised the world that "America is back."
Claire Parker 1 hr ago
As he takes his first trip abroad as president, a Pew Research Center global survey released Thursday shows that many in advanced economies believe it.
Trust in the U.S. president fell to historic lows in most countries surveyed during Donald Trump's presidency, according to Pew.
Under Biden, it has soared. In the 12 countries surveyed both this year and last, a median of 75 percent of respondents expressed confidence in Biden to "do the right thing regarding world affairs," Pew found, compared with 17 percent for Trump last year. Sixty-two percent of respondents now have a favorable view of the United States vs. 34 percent at the end of Trump's presidency.
"The election of Joe Biden as president has led to a dramatic shift in America's international image," the Pew report reads.

Prices rose 5 percent in May over the past year as recovery continues
Source: Washington Post/MSN
The Washington Post
Rachel Siegel 21 mins ago
Prices were up by 5 percent in May compared with a year ago, the largest increase since the Great Recession, continuing a steady climb in inflation even as policymakers insist on staying the course.
Data released Thursday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that prices rose 0.6 percent in the past month. Policymakers have predicted that prices will rise over the coming months, especially compared to a year ago when the economy was still reeling from the pandemic shutdowns.
The most recent crop of inflation figures are unlikely to rattle the Biden administration or Federal Reserve, both of which argue that prices will continue to rise as the economy recovers from the depths of the covid crisis.
The Fed is charged with keeping prices stable and unemployment low. And for now, it is not rushing to control inflation until theres been substantial progress in the labor market, which is still down 7 million jobs.

Democratic establishment tightens its hold on the party as far-left candidates fall short
Michael Scherer, Gregory S. Schneider, David Weigel 11 hrs ago
Democratic primary voters have been turning away this year from the anti-elite furies that continue to roil Republican politics, repeatedly choosing more moderate candidates promising steady leadership over disrupters from the partys left-wing.
Tuesdays elections in Virginia, which brought the renomination of former governor Terry McAuliffe and primary losses by three of the Democrats most outspoken liberal delegates, only underscored a pattern that was previously apparent in special House elections in Louisiana and New Mexico. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a moderate Democrat, won his partys nomination without a challenge from the left after two protest candidates failed to collect the 1,000 signatures needed for ballot access.
In the crowded Democratic primary in New York City, a similar crop of contenders, including Eric Adams and Andrew Yang, have emerged as front-runners by pushing platforms that include an embrace of police as an essential component of public safety, a far cry from the defund the police mantra that some liberal activists embraced in 2020.
There is nothing wrong with being one of those trailblazers who shakes up the status quo, but you can do it in a way that brings people along with you, said Michelle Maldonado, a small-business owner from Bristow, Va., who defeated the state House of Delegates only self-described democratic socialist in Tuesdays Democratic primary. Prac-tactical youve got to be practical and tactical at the same time.

A school sent a boy to a psychologist for wearing a skirt so male teachers wore them in solidarity
Teachers all over the country are stepping up to teach a lesson in equality.
By Alex Bollinger Monday, June 7, 2021
Male teachers wore skirts to work last month in solidarity with a student who was pulled out of school and sent to a psychologist for wearing a skirt.
Fifteen-year-old Mikel Gómez said in a video that went viral this past October that he was taken to a psychologist by school officials when he decided to wear a skirt to his school in Euskadi, Spain. He said he wore the skirt to express solidarity with womens liberation.
I knew people would look at me badly, he said in the video that got viewed over two million times on TikTok. But he didnt expect to get pulled out of math class and taken to a psychologist who grilled him on whether he is trans and identifies as a woman.
When he said hes not trans, the psychologist asked him to wear pants instead and Gomez said that his parents later punished him for wearing a skirt.

Justice Department unveils two anti-gun violence proposals after another violent weekend
Source: CNN
By Christina Carrega
Updated 12:51 PM ET, Mon June 7, 2021
(CNN) - Attorney General Merrick Garland unveiled Monday two proposals meant to help curb gun violence, an announcement that comes after another violent weekend.
The Justice Department proposed to clarify the restrictions on stabilizing braces that transform a pistol into a short-barreled rifle and can "cause great damage and are more likely to be used to commit crimes."
The makeshift short-barreled rifles were used in two mass shootings in Boulder, Colorado, and in Dayton, Ohio, a Justice Department official told CNN on Monday.
"These requirements are important public safety measures because they regulate the transfer of these dangerous weapons and help ensure they do not end up in wrong hands. The proposed rule would clarify when these attached accessories convert pistols into weapons covered by these heightened regulations," the Justice Department said.
