A serious question...exactly WHO does McCarthy think he's kidding?

He meets with Biden on the debt ceiling, tells reporters "Great talk, I know we can come to agreement."

Gets 10 feet away from Biden and tells reporters "No fucking WAY are we signing off on a "clean" bill."

Tells reporters there is "nothing personal" about bumping Omar and that it's not "payback" for Greene.

Meanwhile, Matt Gaetz tells reporters "Yeah...IT WAS payback for Greene."

SO...help me out here...WHO, if ANYONE is believing or trusting ANYTHING that comes out of Mr. "I GOT MY GAVEL's" mouth?

"You're entitled to your political views but not to an insurrection. You were an insurrectionist."

A Marine Corps veteran who participated in the January 6 insurrection just received 68 months in prison — the longest sentence of anyone involved in the attack to date — shortly after giving a tearful speech to the judge trying to beg for leniency, according to POLITICO on Wednesday.

"Daniel Caldwell, a 51-year-old Marine Corps veteran, delivered a tearful apology in court to the officers he sprayed, expressing remorse for his actions that day and pleading with U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly for mercy," reported Kyle Cheney. "But Kollar-Kotelly repeatedly described Caldwell as an 'insurrectionist' and noted that his deployment of chemical spray at officers created such an intense cloud that it nearly broke the depleted police line by itself. Though no officers directly attributed their injuries that day to Caldwell’s actions, Kollar-Kotelly said his actions undoubtedly contributed to their physical and psychological trauma."

“You’re entitled to your political views but not to an insurrection,” said Kollar Kotelly as she handed down the sentence. “You were an insurrectionist.”

Dusty Johnson (R-SD)...what a skeevy, sarcastic, combative little Republican runt

"That's not how a negotiation works," said Johnson. "The law says that the president needs to step forward with a budget first."

*****

"I'm not going to negotiate against the Republican Party on CNN," Johnson insisted. "We're asking for President Biden to be responsible, sensible, and reasonable and be willing to come to the table and negotiate."

"Our Manu Raju is reporting that defense budget cuts are also on the table," said Sciutto. "Can you name a defense weapons system or program that you'd be willing to cut money from?"

Johnson responded: "I get what your goal is today, your goal is to get Republicans to negotiate against themselves."

This nay be obvious or redundant, but Trump's DeSantis "loyalty" rants are seriously CREEPY.

Trump set a pretty high bar when he said his own daughter "does have a very nice figure. I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her."

Hard to go further downhill after that.

But Trump saying ""So then when I hear he might run, you know, I consider that very disloyal," Trump told reporters on board his plane, per CNN. "But, it's not about loyalty — to me it is, it's always about loyalty. But for a lot of people, it's not about that."" sort of makes my skin crawl.

Trump says it's 'very disloyal' of Ron DeSantis to even consider running against him in 2024

I'm stunned to think "analysts" believe Trump can put the cork back in the racist bottle

I'm no fan of Elaine Chao, her work, or her choice of a marriage partner. I would never express that by attacking her ethnicity. I don't dislike her because she's an Asian woman. I dislike her because she was a member of Trump's cabinet who was so upset over the events of January 6th that she got up and left, rather than stick around and call for his removal.

Trump is a child. When he discovers something he thinks is funny or witty or clever, he runs it into the ground and repeats it endlessly. He did it with Elizabeth Warren, now he's doing it with Elaine Chao.

And in the minds of Trump voters, I've come to the conclusion that his blatant and unapologetic racism is a feature / benefit, NOT a shortcoming or deal breaker, OR "it doesn't matter" because of all of the great things he does to make America great again, like play golf and watch TV.

In an opinion piece for Bloomberg, Robert A George writes "Trump’s Racism Alienates a Growing Voting Bloc: The former president’s insults of Asian Americans are not just repugnant, they are also politically stupid."

He writes:

"There are at least two ways for Republicans to avoid sabotaging their emerging relationship with the fastest-growing minority group in the country. They can denounce Donald Trump when he goes off on one of his racist rants, as he inevitably will. And they can nominate a presidential candidate who doesn’t have racist baggage."

But Republicans WON'T denounce Trump. They usually claim they "didn't see" his remarks.

And if Trump battles them regarding the 2024 nomination, they will cave. Trump can and will destroy DeSantis on the national stage, if it comes to that. He has plenty of ammo just by virtue of DeSantis being DeSantis, but whatever he lacks, he'll just make up.

Whatever happens, I hope that America doesn't "find out" that Trump is a racist pig. That would be just awful.

OK, be HONEST...was ANYONE in suspense over whether Trump would be "reinstated" on Facebook?

Facebook and Instagram end Trump's suspension from platforms

Trump’s accounts, which were suspended by Meta after the Jan. 6 riot, will be reinstated “in the coming weeks” and come with “new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”

I really hope that the new Boof Boy rape allegations don't make him cry. Again.

I don't know what's more heart-rending...Boof Boy alternating between weepy denials and his bared fang hissing, or Rittenhouse blubbering fake crocodile tears in court.

I wonder if investigations into his "ALLEGED" activities will inspire Lindsey Graham to once again take time out from his very busy day to yell at us and tell us how we "destroyed" Kavanaugh's life. Gee...$165,000 per year and the highest quality medical care available, for LIFE? Yeah...Lindsey's right. He sure got destroyed.

Pompeo's Kashoggi remarks. WT actual F is WRONG with Republicans?

I'm not going to post what he said here. If you're missing the context, you can read it at this link:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/mike-pompeo-criticizes-jamal-khashoggi-activist-rcna66973

Kashoggi was dismembered with a bone saw while still alive.

What IS it? Is Pompeo trying to position himself as a bigger prick than Trump, or is it just impossible for Republicans to pass up ANY opportunity to "own the libs?" This is ghoulish and loathsome, and the fact that he lacks the filters to prevent himself from saying it tells us all we need to know about "presidential hopeful" Pompeo.

I'm heartbroken over the DOJ's comments on the Gym Jacket Off Jordan Poo Flinging Chimp Show.

DOJ tells GOP investigators they do not have to cooperate with potential inquiries

I mean...all beloved former Ohio State Wrestling Coach Gym Jacket Off Jordan wanted to do is play in his tire swing and fling his poo at zoo-goers for the Fox "News" cameras, and those big, bad, America-hating meanies at the DOJ had to play the buzzkill card.

Beloved former Ohio State Wrestling Coach Gym Jacket Jordan gives so much and asks so little. No kids' birthday party is complete without a clown show, and the DOJ just broke the hearts of every kid in America.

Wow. This is SO special. Joe Manchin, a DEMOCRAT, wants to HELP Republicans SAVE Social Security!

Advocates say 'hell no' as Manchin pitches Social Security deal with GOP

In an interview on Fox Business—conducted at the annual gathering of corporate and political elites in Davos, Switzerland—the West Virginia Democrat said that "we have a debt problem" and argued members of both parties should "work together" on solutions. The senator singled out Social Security, even though the program can't by law add to long-term deficits.

***

The problem, from the perspective of Social Security defenders, is Manchin's suggested avenue for reforms: Bipartisan congressional committees that critics have denounced as "a Trojan horse to cut seniors' benefits."

***

Alex Lawson, the executive director of Social Security Works, told Common Dreams that President Joe Biden should "reiterate his commitment to only signing a clean debt limit increase, and specifically rule out a closed-door commission designed to cut Social Security," in response to the West Virginia Democrat's comments.

"Manchin is providing cover for Republican attacks on Social Security and Medicare," Lawson said. "Democrats must stand with President Biden in his calls for a clean debt ceiling [increase] and an end to Republican attacks on our earned benefits."
