Paul Ryan wants to garnish the paychecks of "grandstanding" House members.

Ryan Proposes Fines, Ethics Moves on Grandstanding House Members

Under the proposed new rules package, which was seen by Bloomberg, members could face a $500 fine through deductions to their paychecks for a first offense of using electronic photography or audio or visual recording, as well as for broadcasting from the chamber’s floor. A $2,500 fine would be leveled for the next such offense and each subsequent violation.

The new rules also clarify which conduct is to be deemed disorderly or disruptive during floor proceedings, including blocking access by other members to microphones or what is known as “the well” -- the front of the chamber.

Some Republicans were upset that Ryan and other leaders didn’t look for ways to punish Democrats, including civil rights icon, Representative John Lewis of Georgia, and Representative John Larson of Connecticut, involved in commandeering the well of the House chamber in June.

The House Sergeant-at-Arms would establish procedures for enforcing the new rules and bans, and the Chief Administrative Officer would be authorized to deduct any fines from members’ salaries for violations.

Nebraska legislature 3 members short of enabling GOP to keep Trump President F-O-R-E-V-E-R

In a terrifying prophecy, MSNBC host Chuck Todd began his Friday evening show saying “16 years later we may look at Donald Trump and he’s still President of the United States.” While Todd was likely popping off, he’s not too far off base.

“I’ve also heard Donald Trump, boy, he won’t even make it through the first year of the presidency,” Todd said. “Ah, Donald Trump will get impeached. Ah, Donald Trump will quit the presidency.”

Don’t count on it. Todd called Trump the “defier of expectations.” Continuing, “16 years later we may look at Donald Trump and he’s still President of the United States.”

While Trump has the 22nd Amendment to contend with, it might not be the barrier many assume. It takes two-thirds of the state legislatures to pass or repeal an Amendment to the Constitution through a Constitutional Convention according to LexisNexis. The Nebraska legislature is 3 members short of being controlled by the GOP. If it goes to the Republicans, the party will hold two-thirds of state legislatures and be able to pass a Constitutional Amendment to keep Trump in power as long as they would like.

Rachel Maddow refuses to let Kellyanne Conway dance around Trumps terrible treatment of the press

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/12/rachel-maddow-refuses-to-let-kellyanne-conway-dance-around-trumps-terrible-treatment-of-the-press/

Pointing out that Trump encouraged his rally crowd to target NBC reporter Martha Raddatz over false claims that she cried the night he was elected, Conway tried to insist that everyone on Trump’s team has “enormous respect” for Raddatz, whom they all agree is a “tour de force.”

Maddow reminded Conway that “telling a story about her that is not true” to crowds of thousands throughout the United States is hardly indicative of “enormous respect” and asked if Raddatz could expect an apology sometime soon. Conway insisted those types of conversations don’t happen in public.

“The accusation was made publicly,” Maddow pressed.

Conway quickly changed the topic, instead discussing Trump’s “relationship with the press” and the “negative press coverage” she says marred his campaign.

The Beach Boys confirmed to Billboard Thursday (Dec. 22) they have been asked to perform at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration but have not yet made a decision to to do it, a spokesman for the band said.

"The Beach Boys have been asked to perform as part of the inauguration festivities. But no decision has been made at this point as to how or whether they will participate. We will let you know as soon as a decision is final," the statement released by the band said.
