Evidence of Concealed Jailhouse Deal Raises Questions About a Texas Execution

In the 10 years since Texas executed Cameron Todd Willingham after convicting him on charges of setting his house on fire and murdering his three young daughters, family members and death penalty opponents have argued that he was innocent. Now newly discovered evidence suggests that the prosecutor in the case may have concealed a deal with a jailhouse informant whose testimony was a key part of the execution decision.

The battle to clear Mr. Willingham’s name has symbolic value because it may offer evidence that an innocent man was executed, something opponents of the death penalty believe happens more than occasionally. By contrast, Justice Antonin Scalia wrote seven years ago that he was unaware of “a single case — not one — in which it is clear that a person was executed for a crime he did not commit.”

State Senate passes gun law nullification bill

Source: Associated Press

JEFFERSON CITY — An effort to nullify federal gun control laws and jail any federal agents trying to enforce them cleared the Missouri Senate yesterday, but a court challenge and another potential veto by Gov. Jay Nixon could ultimately block the legislation even if the House approves it again.

Although state efforts to nullify federal laws generally have been tossed out by courts, Missouri and other states have decided to try anyway. The bill's supporters say it's important to protect liberties in light of potential federal regulation.

A French Film Showing Men What Being A Woman Feels Like Kinda Nails It (NSFW)

"Flipping the genders really brings to light some of the awful things that happen to women in our male-dominated society.

Trigger warning (sexual violence) and slightly NSFW, but it is absolutely worth the time."

Yahoo says detected hacking attempt on email accounts

Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - Yahoo Inc said it had detected a "coordinated effort" to gain unauthorized access to Yahoo Mail accounts using malicious computer software.

The company said on its official blog that it believed that the attackers were attempting to access the accounts using credentials that had been obtained from a breach of another company's user database. It did not identify that company.

Swiffer follows Cheerios

I didn't see this posted so................

After Cheerios received both kudos and bigoted backlash for featuring an interracial family in an ad, Swiffer is using a similar strategy. Only the brand went one further: The husband in its ad is an amputee, prompting outlets to note the commercial's even broader portrayal of a household.

(

)

The commercial shows how Swiffer impacts the real lives of the Rukavina family in Los Angeles. She's black. He's white. He explains he's better at cleaning the house, though, he says, the chore has become slightly more difficult since losing part of his arm. Enter Swiffer.

"Most Inclusive Ad Ever?" AdWeek wrote in its headline. Jezebel, too, called the spot "mega-inclusive" but hoped that such presentations "will be so commonplace that we won't even be compelled to talk about it anymore."

Does anyone know of any

films that have to do with Spirituality?

I would like to be able to sit down and watch a nice film without it being all about ghosts and things that go bump in the night.

Feel free to post films about astrology and alternative healing if you know of any.

Thanks.

Love and light to all.
