A Professor of Islam at Oxford University, Taj Hargey, argues that the Prophet Mohammed forbids Muslims from eating pork, but he insists that those who pray to Allah can get a gay marriage. Nevertheless, Muslim militants disagree and have issued a fatwa to declare jihad against pro-LGBT mosques.

The Daily Telegraph of London reports that, "A Muslim academic is vowing to push ahead with the launch of his woman and gay-friendly mosque in South Africa, despite receiving death threats. Taj Hargey, director of the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford, a group of "forward thinking" Muslims, said his Open Mosque will welcome all genders, religions and sexual orientations when it opens in Wynberg, a Cape Town suburb, on Friday."

"South Africans have become Arabised, they think they must wear the burka, must have face masks, that men must wear pyjama dresses. They think that is the only version of Islam."

Federal Judge Halts Key Part Of Texas Abortion Law

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge Friday threw out new Texas abortion restrictions that would have effectively closed more than a dozen clinics statewide in a victory for opponents of tough new anti-abortion laws sweeping across the U.S.

U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel sided with clinics that sued over one of the most disputed measures of a sweeping anti-abortion bill signed by Republican Gov. Rick Perry in 2013. The ruling stops new clinic requirements that would have left seven abortion facilities in Texas come Monday, when the law was set to take effect.

Texas currently has 19 abortion providers — already down from more than 40 just two years ago, according to groups that sued the state for the second time over the law known as HB2.


"The overall effect of the provisions is to create an impermissible obstacle as applied to all women seeking a previability abortion," Yeakel wrote in his 21-page ruling.

The ruling blocks a portion of the that law would have required abortion facilities in Texas to meet hospital-level operating standards, which supporters say will protect women's health. But Yeakel concluded the intent was only to "close existing licensed abortion clinics."

British Islamic State Terrorist Threatens to 'Come Home'

That British IS jihadist is far from alone in the ranks of the extremist group that has conquered large portions of Iraq and Syria, declaring itself early last month as a caliphate. According to the UK's Home Office, 500 people associated with Britain have joined IS, and roughly half have returned to the UK.

Khalid Mahmood, a British MP based in Birmingham, estimates that in total at least 1,500 young British Muslims have been recruited by extremists fighting in Iraq and Syria in the last three years.

Two British IS fighters currently in Syria, Abu Bakr and Abu Anwar, were interviewed via a video feed by CNN as reported on Thursday, and revealed that the video of Foley's horrific murder is acting as a recruitment video.

Abu Anwar said he would be "more than honored" to conduct a beheading like that of Foley, adding "I hope that Allah gives me a chance to do to James Foley to another enemy. My hands are ready to commit to this blessed act."

ISIS sets sights on Denmark as EU nation wades into Iraq crisis

The Islamic State has declared Denmark an “enemy of Islam” and the country is on the militant organization’s radar. This is according to a Danish-Turkish jihadist, who only gave his name as OA and previously fought for the organization in Syria.

The 27 year-old, who was born and raised in Denmark says The Islamic State, who was previously known as ISIS, “has become very international and Denmark is high up on the list, believe me,” speaking to the Danish broadsheet newspaper, Politiken.

“Denmark is not my country. The Muslims’ country is the caliphate and inshallah there will soon be an attack here. Denmark should prepare itself,” the militant added as cited by The Local.

“It is an open war now. ISIS has said that all infidels should be battled. They should be eliminated and soon it will be Denmark’s turn,” OA continued.

Two Teenage Girls Arrested Over French Synagogue Suicide Bomb Plot

Two teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to blow up a synagogue in Lyon, French news websites have reported.

According to JSS News and Europe 1, a source from the French security agency the Central Directorate of Homeland Intelligence revealed that two Muslim girls, aged 15 and 17, were arrested in the Tarbes and Venissieux neighbourhoods a week ago, after authorities uncovered a plan to carry out a suicide bombing inside the Great Synagogue of Lyon. They were indicted on August 22nd for conspiracy to commit terrorism.

An unnamed security source also revealed that the two teenagers had never met, but communicated only via social media. “These girls were part of a network of young Islamists who were being monitored by security services,” said the unnamed security source. Security services are becoming increasingly concerned with online radicalisation, particularly following the proliferation of videos created by jihadist groups such as Islamic State.

Three Malaysian women, apparently sympathetic to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), have reportedly travelled to the Middle East to offer themselves sexually to militants, an Malaysian intelligence official said in an interview published Wednesday.

“These women are believed to have offered themselves in sexual comfort roles to ISIS fighters,” the intelligence officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Malaysian Insider.

He added: “This concept may seem controversial but it has arisen as certain Muslim women here are showing sympathy for the ISIS.”

So-called Jihad al-nikah, permitting extramarital sexual relations with multiple partners, is considered by fringe hardline Sunni Muslim Salafists as a legitimate form of holy war.
