turbinetree's JournalSteve Bannon uses White House office to promote new book linking Democrats with Nazis
On Friday, right-wing commentator deleted tweets he posted about a visit he made to the White House to promote his new book with some help from White House staffers Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka.
DSouza, who was convicted of a felony in 2014 for making illegal contributions to a Republican U.S. Senate candidate, tweeted that he stopped by the White House to brief Steve Bannon and [Sebastian Gorka] on how Trump can flip the accusation of fascism on the Democratic left.
A photo accompanying the tweet shows Bannon posing with one arm around DSouza, while the other holds a copy of DSouzas new book, Big Lie.

Why?
Attorney General Sessions holds news conference on leaks
Maybe zippy the elf that is trying desperately to appease his duties and continue his assault of BS on civil rights and other little items in the country , maybe the good old elf should start with one former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani and ask about the classified information that was was being thrown around like confetti last year and made public by him on TV.
And if the sexual predator is so concern about these leaks, maybe he should be just as concerned about what Russia did and is planning on doing, but I am not going to hold my breath
Here is an Oldie but Goodie of the Border Wall that zippy and his followers should remember
and then lets remind them of the leaking of the transcripts yesterday of the whining temper tantrum sexual predator

Trumps wall will require large seizures of private land and the cost is unknown
Source: Think Progress
Of all candidate Donald Trumps 2016 campaign promises, none generated more excitement from his supporters than his vow that he would build a massive wall at the nations southern border and that he would miraculously get Mexico to pay the entire cost. When it became obvious that President Trump had no way to keep that promise, his administration proposed spending tens of billions in taxpayer funds on the proposed wall.
But a draft Department of Homeland Security document obtained by ThinkProgress acknowledges that, since the government does not own all of the land along the U.S.-Mexico border, it has no way to predict how much the wall would actually cost to make a reality.
Under the Constitutions Fifth Amendment, the federal government has the power to take privately owned property for public purposes (a process known as eminent domain) as long as it provides just compensation to the owners. This likely means that the government could take whatever land is necessary to build Trumps wallbut that the cost of just compensation could be considerable.

Republican who said pipeline activists were waging jihad confirmed to energy agency
Source: Think Progress
The Senate voted Thursday evening to confirm two Republican nominees to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, one of whom accused natural gas pipeline opponents of waging a jihad against the agency.
Robert Powelson, a member of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission who made the accusation against pipeline opponents, and Neil Chatterjee, a senior energy policy adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), were confirmed by unanimous consent.
The Senate just gave about as much attention to pushing through these FERC nominees as FERC gives to the impacts of fossil fuel projects they approve: Zero. This is a shameful day in shameful times for the U.S. Senate, David Turnbull, campaigns director at Oil Change International, said in a statement issued late Thursday.

Interior Dept Watchdog Launches Probe Into Zinke Calls To Alaska Senators
Source: Talking Points Memo
By NICOLE LAFOND Published AUGUST 4, 2017 10:07 AM
The Interiors Departments Office of the Inspector General has launched a preliminary investigation into Secretary Ryan Zinke after he reportedly threatened Alaska senators last week in an attempt to get them to support an Obamacare repeal push.
Reps. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) sent a letter to the Inspector General on July 27, asking the office to look into Zinkes calls to Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Dan Sullivan (R-AK).
The OIG is undertaking a preliminary investigation into this matter. We will advise you about what further action the results of this inquiry lead the OIG to take, Deputy Inspector General Mary Kendall said Thursday in a written response to Pallone and Grijalva.
Sullivan told the Alaska Dispatch News that Zinke called ahead of the Senates Obamacare repeal vote last week and threatened to sanction Alaska on energy policy if both senators didnt vote in favor of repeal.

Accreditors Can Keep Their Hospital Inspection Reports Secret, Feds Decide
Source: National Memo
Reprinted with permission from ProPublica.
Federal health officials have backed down from a controversial proposal that would have required private accreditors to publicly release reports about errors, mishaps and mix-ups in the nations hospitals and health care facilities.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services had proposed in April that accreditors publicly detail problems they find during inspections of hospitals and other medical facilities, as well as the steps being taken to fix them. Nearly nine in 10 hospitals are directly overseen by these accreditors, not the government.
But in a notice released Wednesday afternoon, the government withdrew the proposal. CMS said that federal law prohibits the agency from disclosing the results of inspections performed by the accrediting organizations and that the proposal though it required accreditors, not the agency, to release the reports may appear as if CMS was attempting to circumvent the law.

Finance Committee announces healthcare hearing in September
Source: The Hill
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) announced Thursday that the panel will hold a healthcare hearing in September, in the wake of a failed vote on repeal of ObamaCare.
The hearing will be a chance for members of both parties to discuss the health law and it comes amid calls for a return to regular order and the committee process.
The HELP committee is expected to take the lead role in crafting a bipartisan bill aimed at stabilizing the ObamaCare marketplaces, but the announcement indicates that the Finance Committee, which shares jurisdiction on healthcare, will also discuss the issue.
Still, Hatch noted that the main priority of the committee in the fall will be tax reform.
Weve also heard a lot of demands from members of the committee for a healthcare hearing, Hatch said at the opening of a Finance Committee hearing on Thursday. I intend to do that as well at some point shortly after the recess.

There should two questions to be presented by democrats for discussion, nothing else:
1. What is the CBO score for Single Payer / Universal Coverage / Medicare for all in this country?
2. What is the costs per person in this country to have Single payer / Universal Coverage / Medicare when compared to "all" of the insurance programs now ?
None of this lets see what "block grants can do or any other BS............
This set of hearing will in my opinion determine who wins 2018 and 2020, time to go to a hearings and making some calls and to go to town hall meetings in force....................
