NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- There's a new Blackhawk on Coach Q's roster this year--at least on Halloween. He's 14-year-old Luke Fanella in his latest costume: the Blackhawks bench.
"That's where the players have to hop the boards to get to their shift...Just to see where they go and what they're doing back there is pretty cool...I wanted to be that kid that got to sit on the bench during their warmups and give them all knuckles and high-fives," said Fanella of how he picked the costume.
Trick-or-treating in Naperville, Fanella will be a player himself, on the same line as Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The gitup includes the glass, the boards and cheering fans in tow, including Luke's Uncle Jim DelGenio who built the outfit from scratch.

MD Dems File Ethics Complaint Against Andy Harris
Submitted by pfowler on Oct 18 2018
Annapolis, MDThe Maryland Democratic Party filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics yesterday on Congressman Andy Harris failure to disclose more than $26,000 in spousal income on his 2017 financial disclosure. His omission is made even more significant by the fact that Indys Services sources of income included Harris own campaign and the Maryland Republican Party.
After Democrats filed their complaint against Harris, The Washington Post reported that Harris campaign has paid Beus more than $130,000 since 2014.
It appears Andy Harris paid his wife thousands of dollars from his campaign, then tried to hide it from government ethics regulators, said Maryland Democratic Party chair Kathleen Matthews. This is just more proof that Congressman Harris has become nothing more than another creature of the Washington swamp.

While the sexual predator was making headlines about Birth Rights to deflect his lies
Lawrence O'Donnell nailed it about the issue that we the voters must remember, I will paraphrase................
1. The national debt went up to 1.3 trillion under his watch and the republican tax cuts, 83% of the population didn't get a thing out of the tax cut, over 15% made off like bandits
2. Mitch McConnell came out and publicly said said that if the republican's stay in power they will cut Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid to pay for the 1.3 trillion tax cut
3. The republicans will take insurance away from people with pre-existing conditions still in the Affordable Care Act that basic firewall from basic coverage
4. If the republicans stay in power in the Mid-terms it will be a condition that the voters approve and condone the actions of what the leader of there party is doing and it will get worse and they will be embolden to do more damage to this republic .......................with there lies to continue the blame game..................

Republican Campaign Mailer Fuels Anti-Semitism Complaints In State Senate Race
BY Neil Vigdor and Shawn R. BealsContact Reporters
A campaign mailer showing a Jewish candidate for state Senate with a fistful of money is drawing condemnation for what critics say is its blatant anti-Semitic imagery.
It was sent out by Republican Ed Charamut and targets state Rep. Matthew Lesser, a Democrat who gave up his seat in the House to vie for an open Senate seat representing Middletown, Wethersfield, Newington, Cromwell and Rocky Hill.
The inflammatory mailer has stoked controversy just days after 11 people were killed and six others were wounded in a synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh in what investigators have categorized as a hate crime.
It coincides with a spike in the number of reported anti-Semitic incidents across the nation, which the Anti-Defamation League says rose by 53 percent last year

Echoing Gunman's Rhetoric, Gaffney Says Soros & HIAS Aren't Victims Of Anti-Semitism
By Matt Shuham
October 30, 2018 4:08 pm
Islamophobe Frank Gaffney argued Tuesday that the Jewish philanthropist and Democratic donor George Soros and the refugee aide organization HIAS have not been the victims of anti-Semitism, despite the pipe bomb mailed to Soros last week and the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooters social media posts citing HIAS as a motive for allegedly killing 11 Jews.
In claiming that the two are not victims of anti-Semitism, Gaffney echoed the shooters online rhetoric that HIAS is responsible for bringing purportedly dangerous foreigners into the United States.
Rather than arguing the facts of the anti-Semitic ire focused against Soros and HIAS, Gaffney appeared to argue that their left-wing politics made them ineligible for such attacks. Political violence is one, unacceptable form of political warfare. Lying for political advantage is another, he said at the conclusion of his podcast Tuesday.
Billionaire George Soros security detail got one of the so-called pipe-bombs and were told now hes a victim of anti-Semitism, Gaffney said on the podcast. In fact, for years his funding has promoted hostility towards Israel and enabled the worlds most aggressive anti-Semites: rabid leftists and their Sharia-supremacist allies.

Bolsonaro's party launches campaign against 'indoctrinator teachers'
It comes a week after Brazilian police launched raids against universities.

OCT 30, 2018, 10:31 AM
A campaign has been launched by a newly-elected lawmaker in Jair Bolsonaros Social Liberal Party (PSL) to get students to denounce indoctrinator teachers who criticize Bolsonaros resounding electoral victory on Sunday.
Ana Campagnola, who was elected to for the PSL for the state legislature in the southern state of Santa Catarina, launched the campaign via Facebook on Sunday. As the Guardian reported, she urged her 70,000 followers to be on the lookout for indoctrinator teachers and provided a WhatsApp number so students could report party-political or ideological expressions that humiliate or offend your freedom of faith and conscience.
In advance of Bolsonaros victory in the second round of voting on Sunday where he defeated his leftist rival Fernando Haddad by 55 to 45 percent Brazilian media had reported that police had been entering more than a dozen universities across the country, questioning professors and confiscating left-leaning political material.
Ostensibly the raids were to target illegal electoral advertising, since it is against electoral law to advertise for candidates in public spaces in Brazil. However, according to Brazilian media the material confiscated was mostly broad, pro-Democratic statements, like flyers reading Manifest in Defense of Democracy and Public Universities and Law UFF Antifascist (UFF refers to the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State).
The Brazilian Attorney General, Raquel Dodge, has announced an investigation into the incident. There have been clear indications that there has been an infringement of freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and professorship, Dodge said in a statement. I am requesting the STF [Federal Supreme Court] to
request for an injunction to restore freedom of expression.

GOP senate candidate's rally features speaker who urges turning 'blue wave into a blue grave'
"We need to do everything we can to turn that 'blue wave' into a blue grave."

A Monday campaign event for Corey Stewart, the Republican Senate candidate from Virginia and Minnesota man who is very concerned about the destruction of Confederate monuments, featured a speaker who urged conservatives to turn that blue wave into a blue grave.
According to a video tweeted by Ian Sams, communications director for Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Stewart was introduced in Lynchburg by an unidentified woman who said, We need to do everything we can to turn that blue wave into a blue grave.
The blue wave is a popular nickname for the expected backlash to President Donald Trump and Republicans in next weeks midterm elections.
Former Republican election official Brian W. Schoeneman pointed out the comments were made by Jennifer Brown, chair of the Republican Committee in Virginias 6th district.

Trump designates Civil War site as national monument after decimating Utah monuments
Conservation groups note "irony" of Trump administration discovering value of Antiquities Act.
MARK HAND
OCT 30, 2018, 11:55 AM
The Trump administration designated a Civil War site in Kentucky as a national monument, a decision that runs counter to the administrations emphasis on reducing the size of national monuments. The move has sparked skepticism among green groups.
President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Friday under authority of the Antiquities Act of 1906 declaring Camp Nelson a national monument. Located in Jessamine County, Kentucky, Camp Nelson was a key site of emancipation for African American soldiers and a refugee camp for their families during the Civil War.
In recent weeks, the U.S. Department of the Interior has been announcing additions to a network of historic sites related to African Americans and the civil rights movement.
Conservation groups agreed the 525-acre Camp Nelson was fully deserving of being declared a national monument. But they also noted the irony of the designation.

-snip-
Its at odds with the administrations ongoing attack on national monuments, which began with Trumps April 2017 executive order that required the Department of the Interior conduct a review of national monuments due to modern Antiquities Act overreach by previous administrations.
The Trump administrations opposition to the Antiquities Act, for instance, was put on full display when it was used to decimate the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monuments in December 2017.
Wyoming court rules controversial ag-gag law violates free speech
It's a victory for green groups and free speech.
KYLA MANDEL
OCT 30, 2018, 2:21 PM
In a victory for environmentalists, a Wyoming court has found that a controversial trespass law violates the right to free speech.
The states district court ruled Monday that Senate File 12, better known as the Data Trespass Law, is unconstitutional because it is in violation of the First Amendment. The law made it illegal for anyone to collect data on public or private open land data often required by groups monitoring pollution from cattle grazing and other agricultural practices.
Critics of the law argued that it would silence whistle-blowers who expose public land management issues, particularly malpractice within the agriculture industry. The law, they said, would make it illegal for citizen scientists or concerned residents to expose contamination of streams by the ranching industry which represents a significant share of the states economy. In 2015, a coalition of environmental, justice, and animal rights groups filed a lawsuit against the Data Trespass Law in federal court.
The law has been compared to other ag-gag laws in states such as Idaho or Utah, which specifically targeted undercover investigations of slaughterhouses. (These laws have also been successfully challenged in court.) Wyoming, however, was the first to introduce a more generalized version of an ag-gag law that didnt have language directed specifically at factory farming. The state instead argues that the law was designed to grant more rights to property owners against trespassers.

Trump's plan to end birthright citizenship is too much for even the judiciary's right-wingers
There is no good faith argument for Trump's position
IAN MILLHISER
OCT 30, 2018, 9:18 AM
Donald Trump, in an interview with Axios, said that he plans to sign an executive order stripping many Americans of their citizenship. Though it is unclear how far Trump wants to go, or whether he would attempt to retroactively strip many existing citizens of their citizenship, Trump apparently wants to target the children of undocumented immigrants.
Were the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years with all of those benefits, Trump falsely claimed. Its ridiculous. Its ridiculous. And it has to end.
Trumps plan is unconstitutional. Its not even arguably constitutional. It is so obviously unconstitutional that it was rejected by a notoriously racist Supreme Court more than a century ago. The few scholars who think that Trump can actually do this are considered radicals even within conservative legal circles.
If the Roberts Court ultimately upholds such an order, it will reveal that its Republican majority is so captured by partisanship that it cannot even be trusted to read the clear words of the Constitution.
