This election is the end result of the Jefferson/Jackson revolution of the common man

I have long stated politics is race to the bottom. Whomever panders to the majority of Americans (the ignorant, the stupid, the uneducated, the racist, the sexist, the jingo, the xenophobe, the religious wackjob, the paranoid, and/or the yokel) better will win every time.

Hamilton wanted government and elections in the hands of those who could make logical decisions. Jefferson wanted government and elections in the hands most Americans with at least a high school education. Jackson wanted everyone involved, because he knew, against John Q. Adams, the toothless inbred will support him over the Boston Brahman.

And now we have the end result.

On the campaign trail, a woman who called out to Adlai Stevenson and said: "Governor, you have the vote of every thinking person!" during one of his presidential campaigns.

He responded: "That's not enough, madam, we need a majority!"

After this election, it is definitely not enough anymore. Trump proved it. American politics is a race to the lowest common denominator.

Tomorrow is the culmination of 230 years of struggle. (Long speech here)

It began with Abigail Adams and her fight to open job opportunities for women.

When she passed, my heroine Elizabeth Cady Stanton took up the march for suffrage.

When she passed, her student Susan B. Anthony took up the march.

In 1869, the Wyoming territory passed universal suffrage for all people. By 1900, four states had done so (WY, CO, UT, ID).

Then, finally, in 1920, the 19th amendment is ratified, giving universal suffrage for all citizens 21 and over (in theory).

But the work was not done.

Women were still not equal; not equal in opportunities, in job conditions, pay, social treatment, marriage rights. A man could go to prison for beating a woman on the street, but not for beating his wife. A man made more than a woman for doing the same work (today, it's $.77 for white women, $.66 for black women, $.55 for Latinas).

Women were talked down to, condescended to. Women couldn't buy a car from a dealership without a salesman asking if she spoke to her husband first.

Male fashion designers created clothing for women that pretty much revealed everything men wanted to see (such as modern day hot pants, daisy dukes and two piece bikinis), while men's clothing was more modest.

Even with the passages of the CRA, women had to work twice as hard to prove they were half as good as men.

There were defeats, such as the failure to get the ERA ratified and the watering down of the Lilly Ledbetter Equal Pay Act. . .but the march forward for women's equality never stopped and couldn't be stopped.

Tomorrow night, Americans take another step forward in that march towards equality and social justice for all. A woman will be elected president. A woman will break the highest and thickest of all glass ceilings. A woman will become something Stanton dreamed would happen.

The traditional WASP hold on power is slowly fading. Soon, we will have a non-Christian president. Soon, we will have someone of Asian descent as president. Soon, we will have a Native American as president. Soon, we will have a president whose first language isn't English. Soon, we will have a LBGT president. Soon, we will have an atheist president.

As this happens, the traditional white power elite will become more determined to hold their "rightful" place. But change happens. Slowly, bit by bit. Step by step. Soon, those what scream the loudest for "making America great again" and "taking my country back" will be the smallest of minorities, albeit one of the loudest.

Soon, those that mask their bigotry and intolerance in religion, after having been exposed in this election cycle, will be cast into the dustbin of history, as the younger generation, starting with my Generation X, are moving further and further away from religion of all kind.

Soon, the wrongs of the past towards women, immigrants, minorities, native Americans and every group of "the wrong white people" (Irish, Jew, Italian, etc) will be righted and those that worked to keep them down will disappear in ideology and power.

It is beginning. It has begun. Gays are no longer in the closet and can legally marry. Interracial marriage is no longer considered taboo.

And a woman, once considered in America to only have the rights to cook, clean and reproduce, will soon become the nation's 45th president. And while I do not completely trust her intentions as I am much more to the left than she is, I will support the things she does I agree with and denounce the things she does I disagree with. Just like I did with Barack Obama, just like I did with Bill Clinton. And just like I will do with the next Democrat that becomes president have Madame President, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth Cady Stantion, Abagail Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Helen Keller, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman and the rest that fought, bled, were jailed and died for the cause of women's rights, women's equality and women's suffrage. . .tomorrow night, your struggle takes a major step forward.

Tomorrow night is your night, ladies. Enjoy it, relish it, look the the heavens and thank everyone who fought to make this possible through the history of this country.

But before that happens, each and every one of you need to do something to honor those women who did the fighting. . .GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

Things I learned about myself from Twits on Twitter

1: I am gay (my wife would be surprised to hear that)

2: I'm a loser who can't get laid (again, my wife would be shocked, as would all the women I dated before I got married in 2014).

3: I'm fat (man, that burns. I mean, I may be fat. . .never knew being 6'2" and 245 with 14% BF was fat. . .but these people are stupid and I can diet)

4: Trump is going to sue me (I live in Asia. Good luck serving those papers there)

5: I hate America (apparently, being a deplorable means you cornered the market on patriotism (tm)).

6: I'm not a historian (One of my BAs is in history, PhD in Chinese History - dissertation on the life of the Chinese under the collaborist government of Wang Jing Wei after the Rape of Nanking - producer/screenwriter that specializes in period pieces. . .worked at the Rape of Nanking Museum for four years, field work with Rape of Nanking/Jeju Massacre/Terracota Warriors and university history professor for seven years in Hebei in China and Jiangsu in China)

7: I bought my wife (I'm sure my in-laws would be surprised to hear that)

8: I married a Chinese "whore" because I'm a loser that couldn't find a real woman (love that xenophobic bigotry)

9: I live in my parents basement (apparently, my parents live in Wuxi with me and not in Arizona where they actually live)

10: I don't know anything about politics (My second BA is in Political Science. . .one of my Master's Degrees is in Geospatial Sciences, concentrating on urban development and land use. . .just because I am not one of these paid pundits on TV doesn't mean I know nothing, Mr. Deplorable)

Twitter is a cesspool. I am on there simply for professional reasons. I post a little in politics and these people come out of the woodwork. That "block" button is nice. It ends all bullshit quickly.

Oldie, but relevant now: Donald Trump: 'If I lose, I don’t think you will ever see me again'

Don't expect to see Donald Trump give a humble concession speech if he loses the Republican presidential nomination.

During a Sunday rally in Maryland, the Republican presidential frontrunner mocked candidates who praise their opponents during concession speeches, saying that if he loses the contest, Americans will probably not hear much from him again.

"They fight like hell for six months, and they're saying horrible things, the worst things you can imagine," Trump said. "And then one of them loses, one of them wins. And the one who loses says, 'I just want to congratulate my opponent. He is a brilliant man, he'll be a great governor or president or whatever.'"

Your lips, God's ears, Trumpenrapist

A Pimp Just Revealed Trump Also Raped 12-Year-Old Girl, Threat To Kill Witnesses

Republican nominee Donald Trump is an admitted serial sexual predator. His own recorded words confirm as much, as do the dozen or so women who have come forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct. His campaign is desperately fighting to put a lid on the growing awareness that Trump will be testifying under oath during a trial in federal court under the accusation of raping a thirteen-year-old girl and a previously undisclosed second girl, who was even younger.

The case was thrown out in May due to a clerical error, but re-filed in June with two new witnesses – “Joan Doe” and “Tiffany Doe” who both say they worked as “party planners” for convicted child rapist and billionaire Jeffery Epstein. Part of that “planning” appears to have been procuring girls for the party, as “Joan Doe” revealed in her deposition that she convinced victim “Jane Doe” to attend four different parties with promises of money and “meeting contacts” in the modelling industry – a story that matches the account of another person who would arrange for underage women to attend Trump’s parties.

At one of these parties, “Jane Doe” was forced to perform oral sex on Trump with a twelve-year old named “Maria.” At the fourth and final encounter, Tiffany Doe says “I personally witnessed Defendant Trump telling the Plaintiff that she shouldn’t ever say anything if she didn’t want to disappear like the 12-year-old female Maria, and that he was capable of having her whole family killed.”

Pedophile In Chief

And he will still get at least 40% of the vote. Americans are getting more and more pathetic if someone this odious will get 40+% of the vote.

EXPLOSIVE New Info – FBI Director Comey ADMITS He’s Helping Donald Trump And The GOP

Ever since FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to members of Congress about new emails found related to Hillary Clinton, people on both the right and left have questioned the timing of his disclosure.

Kurt Eichenwald of Newsweek Magazine, has had quite a bit to say about Comey’s actions:

Mississippi Is Sick Of Censorship, Will Allow Cops To Display “In God We Trust” Stickers

Bumper stickers can be a fun way to show off your personal flare and tell the world what matters to you most. If you’re the proud parent of a brilliant youngster, you might have a bumper sticker that says, “My kid is on the honor roll.” If you’re the proud parent of a not so brilliant youngster, you might have a bumper sticker that says, “My kid can beat up your honor roll kid.”

From “Dog is my co-pilot” to “If you don’t like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalk,” we are a nation of drivers who put it all out there on our bumpers for the the world to see and don’t apologize for it. But one Mississippi police department is being chastised for stating its beliefs on the bumpers of their squad cars, and then again on its Facebook page. You won’t believe the controversy surrounding this bumper sticker debacle. Read on for the full story.

On July 14, the police department in Eupora, Mississippi, enthusiastically shared a new program with its followers on Facebook. It posted pictures of a new directive to be implemented within the department regarding its squad cars.

From the Facebook post: EPD patrol cars receive “In God We Trust” bumper stickers along with new patrol car design that will be fazed in over time. Chief Gregg Hunter – “I am proud to announce that all of the Eupora Police Department Patrol vehicles will now have ‘In God we trust’ on the back. This became our National Motto in 1956 and is on all of our currency. There has been no better time than now to proudly display our National Motto! Also, the design on our new 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, which is completely redesigned, will slowly be phased in on all new EPD patrol vehicles. I’d also like to thank Lowell Hitt and Kay Embry for all of their help and support with this project.” But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.” Jeremiah 17 .

Here's to the State of Mississippi

About Feeling the Bern

Principle before party is my belief. Lifelong Democrat, but I have no tolerance for blue dogs, tepid centrists, or weak Democrats that feel apologetic to Republicans. The way to win a political war is to fight the enemy using their tactics against them.
