Our next president must wield a command of the world stage and all its dynamic, shifting intricacies
In Clinton we also have a savvy stateswoman with an established understanding of world affairs and building allegiances. She is widely applauded for shaping and executing with the support of Russia, China and the European Union economic sanctions against Iran that crippled the nation and were used as leverage to bring Iran to the negotiating table. Clintons diplomacy also dissuaded Hamas from firing rockets into Israel. While Clinton was traveling to 112 countries, her campaign for gender equality has been woven into our foreign-policy mission.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) (kind of) clarified whether he thought former President Bill Clinton was responsible for the terror attacks on Sept. 11.
Rubio said at the Republican debate that "the World Trade Center came down because Bill Clinton didnt kill Osama bin Laden when he had the chance to kill him, according to The Washington Post. NBC "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd asked him to clarify.
"Well, I believe that if Osama bin Laden had been killed, Al Qaeda as an organization would not have grown to the point where it could have conducted 9/11," Rubio said. "And my argument was, no, the responsibility of 9/11 falls on the fact that Al Qaeda was allowed to grow and prosper and the decision was not made to take out the leader when the chance existed to do so."

The surreal streak that ran through this weeks Saturday Night Live cold open continued into the shows first sketch, a filmed piece that lampooned the collective freakout over Beyoncés Super Bowl 50 halftime show and overall blackness. Cut like a horror movie trailer, the white characters are increasingly shocked and horrified to find out that many of their celebrities are actually black.

On Sundays Meet The Press, host Chuck Todd sat with a handful of Presidential candidates to discuss Saturdays GOP Debate as well as the news of the sudden passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. As the candidates suddenly find themselves addressing this topic on the campaign trail, Texas Senator Ted Cruz managed to honor the legacy of Scalia himself during the interview, offering the comparison between the recently deceased and GOP darling President Ronald Reagan.

The first presidential election I voted in was in 1996. I voted for a third-party candidateI dont remember more than that it was the one with socialist in the party namebecause after welfare reform, I was not voting for Bill Clinton. The first time I voted for a Democrat in a presidential election was John Kerry in 2004I had voted against him in the 2002 Massachusetts Senate election, voting for write-in candidate Randall Forsberg in protest over Iraq.
Im not a natural Hillary Clinton supporter, is what Im saying. When she looked like the only meaningful Democratic candidate in the 2016 presidential election, I was fine with that, committed to a Democratic win but also committed to the work of pushing from her left whenever and wherever possible. When Bernie Sanders got into the race, I was pleased to be able to support a candidate on Clintons left. I gave him a little money and assumed Id give him more.
Then he lost me. Not all at once, but, by now, thoroughly. And along the way, Clinton impressed me more than she ever had.

The relationship between MSNBCs Joe Scarborough and Donald Trump has been a fascinating one to follow the past week. It started when Trump referred to Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski as supporters and the Morning Joe hosts quickly scrambled to deny it.
It only opened wider when CNNs Dylan Byers reported on the two of them hanging out in Trumps hotel room the night of the New Hampshire primary. Scarborough strongly denied it and trashed Byers reporting. Here at Mediaite, Alex Griswold and Joe Concha had vastly different takes on this whole controversy.
A few days ago, Mediaite uncovered a clip from last year of Scarborough bragging about giving Trump debate tips. CNNs Brian Stelter played that clip on Reliable Sources earlier today.

MINNEAPOLIS A warm, welcoming African-American crowd grew increasingly frustrated with Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday evening, complaining that hes too scared to talk about specifically black issues.
Sanders was here for A Community Forum on Black America, introduced by the local congressman, Rep. Keith Ellison, one of Sanders' only two endorsers in the House, But unlike many of the packed rallies that have greeted Sanders in other parts of the country, neither the folding chairs nor the bleachers in the gym here at Patrick Henry High School were full.
And the crowd and the panel grew lukewarm on Sanders, saying his focus on economic inequality looks past the entrenched problems they face as African-Americans.
