Trump is a clown capable of pulling stunts and making consequential decisions at the same time.

There has been, imo, a bit of misdirected outrage at the fact that the Democratic Senators got on the buses for Trump's NK briefing stunt. Yes, we learned after the fact that it was nothing more than a photo op. Trump will never be presidential. He will always be an attention seeking reality star looking to increase his ratings and make a buck or two. As such, it is not foolhardy to think that extremely consequential decisions won't follow.

This is the guy that reduced his Supreme Court nomination to a Bachelor style final rose ceremony and we are going to be feeling the consequences of that for 30-40 years. This is the guy that spent millions bombing an empty airfield in a late night spectacle because his daughter was sad. He is fully capable of busing in the entire Senate in an idiotic stunt and throwing us into a serious war w/ NK. That is who he is. He will never be serious and consequential matters of state will be framed for prime time ratings, whether we like it or not.

Seeking 2020 clout, California looks to jump the primary queue

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/california-wants-earlier-primary-2020-237117

OAKLAND, Calif. — In the age of Trump, California Democrats are tired of their state’s votes being an afterthought.

That’s why the state's top election official is pushing to reschedule the California primary to directly follow the early contests in Iowa and New Hampshire — a bid to pump up solidly blue California's clout, and voter turnout, in the 2020 presidential race.

Arguing that the nation’s most populous state should no longer be an “afterthought” in the presidential race, Secretary of State Alex Padilla on Tuesday announced his support for a bill from state Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) that would move up the California presidential primary from its current spot near the end of the primary calendar to third — a position currently held by Nevada.

Good.

Satan Junior is now attempting to rework police reform agreements.

Sessions orders Justice Department to review all police reform agreements

Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered Justice Department officials to review reform agreements with troubled police forces nationwide, saying it was necessary to ensure that these pacts do not work against the Trump administration’s goals of promoting officer safety and morale while fighting violent crime.

In a two-page memo released Monday, Sessions said agreements reached previously between the department’s civil rights division and local police departments — a key legacy of the Obama administration — will be subject to review by his two top deputies, throwing into question whether all of the agreements will stay in place.

The memo was released not long before the department’s civil rights lawyers asked a federal judge to postpone until at least the end of June a hearing on a sweeping police reform agreement, known as a consent decree, with the Baltimore Police Department that was announced just days before President Trump took office.

I'm surprised that he hasn't tried to reinstate literacy tests.

Edit: These agreements are the product of years of investigations and evidence collection of police abuses. The fact that Sessions is even considering reworking just makes my blood boil and is pure evil. He's willing to subject communities (mostly communities of color) to unchecked abuse just for the hell of it.

WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.
