BamaRefugee
BamaRefugee's JournalI'm about to pay $239 to register my truck. I have no job. No income for the forseeable future.
If I don't pay, I'll DEFINITELY get pulled over here in Los Angeles (expired tags one of the favorite things for cops to stop you). And there's big fines for that and who knows, maybe seize the vehicle.
But even though I am totally quarantining myself at home, I still have to go out (rarely) to get groceries and pick up prescriptions...
But there is NOTHING on the California DMV site about any kind of mitigation for this, even in the current fiscal emergency. Only option is pay for no planned operation. Which carries big penalties if a cop catches you driving when you already documented the vehicle as not operating.
I kinda need that $239 to eat, and stay alive so that I can once again become a wage slave when this is over.
Things you didn't think about a month ago...
There will be MASSIVE lying about "Cause of Death" in red states. Gotta keep those #s down!
The only way to really get a picture of what's actually happening will be to use data from past years to show the number of deaths in any locality during a specific time period, and then compare those numbers to the current number of deaths occurring in the same place in the same time frame.
I guarantee that the cause of death on thousands of certificates will be "unknown" or "influenza" or "Obstruction of Air Passageway" or whatever else they can come up with to NOT have to write "COVID-19" on it.
tRump's signature needs to be on EVERY MASK, not every stimulus check. Not that we can get any masks
So I'm gonna have to wear a mask to my beautiful packed church on beautiful Easter?
Communion's gonna be tricky.
trump says he sent THOUSANDS of ventilators to NY, and they didn't even know they came?!?!?!?!?
WTF?
trump can figure out how to do this epic logistical feat, yet doesn't know how to get his Amazon guy to make somebody sign for it?
The MAGAchurches that will be packed on Easter should give out cloroquinine wafers for communion.
FULL STRENGTH please.
About that Kinsa Fever Map...just a tiny portrait of fairly well off people?
I just looked up the price of the Kinsa Smart Phone Thermometer, and it seems to be around $45 (if you can find one). And although I can't seem to find the specs on it, I would imagine it needs a fairly new cell phone with latest upgraded software to work.
It's just my hunch, as the fat orange anal wart would say, but I don't think a whole lot of vulnerable people have, or had, an extra 50 bucks to throw away on this when they needed to feed their families. And in fact, I doubt many knew about it, I didn't, and I stay fairly up to date on modern electronics.
So what are those maps really telling us? Fevers in gated neighborhoods?
I'm not putting it down, it seems like a great invention, I'm just curious how accurate these maps are in illustrating the condition of the vast majority of the population?
Any suggestions on making an affordable, enforceable will?
Something Ive been meaning to do anyway, but seems like maybe the time is now. I dont have a ton of money, but being alone, no kids, it seems a shame to just let it get grabbed by the government if something happens to me.
Thanks for any help.
