A personal definition of liberalism.

Trying to define, in a nutshell, what it means to me to be a liberal. This works:

Liberalism is the desire to live in a society where one is surrounded by decent people of good will.

Really, isn't every manifestation of illiberality basically someone trying to stick it to you in some way?
