Trump did this to himself

It wasn't the Democrats. It wasn't the Left.

The Founders were at one point considering a religious exemption in the 2nd Amendment

Please look this up. I think it helps to show the mindset of the time when the Constitution was undergoing the Amendments.

My source is the Annals of Congress, 1st Congress June 8, 1789-91

https://memory.loc.gov/ammem/amlaw/lwaclink.html

Use the link above, then go to 1st Congress 1789-91, then go to page 451. Near the bottom of the page in the left hand column you see proposed language for the 2nd Amendment that was being debated.

Think of how differently the 2nd would be interpreted today if the words: "But no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person" were part of the 2nd Amendment.

For one thing, it would show that the founders were talking about common defense, and not the idea that the 2nd Amendment is a license for insurrection, as so many gun nuts want us to think.

Have things really changed, or are Republicans solving problems that don't exist?

I'm listening to republicans claim that their so-called "Parents Bill of Rights" will allow parents to know what their kids are learning in school. Are republicans such idiots that they don't know how to be part of their kid's education without some goofy legislation?

I'm not claiming to be the best parent in the world, but I raised 4 kids, and was constantly a part of their education. The school encouraged it! In fact, there were so many ways to be involved, it was hard to not know what my kids were learning in school.

There were parent / teacher conferences, PTA meetings, science fairs, Art shows, plays, concerts, all sorts of ways of knowing what my kids were learning. I never once felt like the school would hide what my kids were learning from me. I even remember calling one of my son's teachers to discuss some assignments that he had missed. She was very open and helpful. Aside from all this, simply helping my kids with their homework put me in tune with what they were learning.

Unless something has drastically changed, I'm willing to bet most educators and schools still encourage parent involvement.

When did republicans come to the conclusion that schools don't want, or allow, parents to know what their children are learning?

If FOX had been honest, I might not have lost family members to the cult

I find myself thinking of how much better things might possibly be right now if FOX hadn't lied so much to their audience. I take it personally that they lied to my 90 year old mother.

Certainly this country would not be as divided as it is right now.

I think it's likely Jan 6 would not have happened all.

Can a network that knowingly lies to its viewers be considered an "enemy of the people"?

Just asking.

Oh, and since Jan 6 was a result of lies, can that same network also be sued by anyone that got hurt that day?
