Hugh_Lebowski
Hugh_Lebowski's Journallori mckenna - a mother never rests (live-2018) okay, so i'm 1 day late ...
one for all the DU mamas
ashley mcbryde - livin next to leroy (studio-2018) this some gritty country right here
check it, a little depressing, but pretty badass song ...
the revivalists - to love somebody (live-2013) great cover of the beegees classic
to make it even cooler for me, t'was filmed in Quincy, CA, a tiny town on the Feather River where I lived for a spell as a little kid ...
these guys are friggin' great man ...
I want to hear Tangeranus questioned about his whole 'testing isn't so great' comment ...
It would go something like this:
Reporter: The other day you said that testing wasn't such a great thing, because a person could pick up a disease even after a test, is that right?
IQ45: yes that's correct blah blah blah
Reporter: I've been hearing reports that there may be new monitoring system coming out soon, something a person could wear that would tell them immediately if they're infected, is that something you'd be interested in?
IQ45: Absolutely, see that would be wonderful! Something like that is really what we need!
Reporter: So what you're saying is, testing is wonderful, and what we really need is a LOT more testing? So much more testing ... that testing is, in fact, happening ALL the time?
yes - holy lamb (song for harmonic convergence) (studio-1987) big generator was weak, BUT ...
I absolutely love the last song on it.
I know what you're thinking ... with a title like holy lamb (song for harmonic convergence) ... it's gotta be cheesy, right?
Well, I'm here to tell ya ... you're not wrong.
But ... it's also pretty damn beautiful AND super catchy.
And tell me it doesn't sound like a lost Hi Infidelity track?
yes - hearts (studio - 1983) when 90125 came out, I listened to it incessantly
but I would always just skip this song, the last song on the record.
You see, there's so many other great songs on it, and this one just starts out kinda cheesy-sounding ... fact it probably wasn't till I saw 'em in concert a few months later before I actually heard the whole thing.
Turned out ... it's pretty damn good, esp. once you get to around the 3 minute mark.
And now all these years later ... it's my favorite song on the record. I don't even mind the cheesy beginning part ... cause I know what's coming. Sonic Bliss ...
High Volume recommended, esp. from 4:37-5:30 ... the best passage in it. Though the end coda is also a fave ...
all angels of the magic constellation be singing us now
I bet IQ45's master plan is ordering the Federal Government to stop counting the bodies
Or at minimum, make a play at requiring that no Federal agencies do any reporting to any outside (domestic or international) entities ...
He can't stop the States from counting, but he can seriously undermine anybody's ability to report on what's really going on by not letting the CDC/NIH/whoever aggregate and report, esp. if he can get lots of the Red State governors to play along.
Then he'll accuse that the Blue States who ARE reporting ... that they are lying/wanting 'handouts'/trying to 'bring down Trump', etc. He'll also probably threaten to cut off Federal Aid to states that report their numbers.
I mean ... why wouldn't he?
It'd be such a Trump/GOP thing to try to pull. If pressed, they'll insist that it's hurting the economy too much to report these bad numbers.
But I doubt they'd be pressed, they'll just gaslight and gish-gallop their way through it, and the media will happily comply as they always do.
since our back trip to 1979 was a hit, how about some 1976 nostalgia?
When was the last time you heard this one?
Obviously not as great as our 1979 track, but still ... this conjures up a time and place real well, I think ... esp. cause that's (the singer) pretty much exactly how my daddy looked in 1976.
So what's for Sunday Dinner? Got my Carne Asada marinating ...
It's the Safeway pre-marinated flap meat from the butcher, but I like to add lots of my own touches ... lemon & lime juices, cumin, new mexico chili powder, ground coriander seed, pepper, with chopped fresh white onion, green onion, cilantro, and jalapeno. This is right before I roll 'em up and let sit for about 4 hours in the fridge.
BTW, I don't need to hear any anti-Onion propaganda from the POnut Gallery
