Anyone else grossed out by the sound of people eating in commercials? OMFG I HATE IT!

People CRUNCHING on stuff like chips, or slurping, or whatever? Where it sounds like the mic is an inch from their mouth? YUCK.

In fact, just watching someone shove a burger in their mouth I'm not a fan of ... but it's so much worse when there's EATING NOISES. And the fact that commercials are always LOUD makes it even more annoying.

And even WORSE, it's almost never just one time in the commercial .. they usually beat the eating noises into the ground.

I have to think it's 'works' on some people, but, man ... it sure doesn't on me.

A(n) Herb will disappear from the world tomorrow forever ... Which can it NOT BE?

Talking about cooking here, people

What is absolutely the most indispensable herb to your kitchen and/or taste when eating out, the one you'd be the MOST bummed if it disappeared?

Feel free to add your own in the comments ... only so many slots ... some others I can think of would be Cilantro (which I left off on purpose because I'd have no choice but to choose that one ... plus to me it's more of a food than a seasoning) and Mint.

This is a tough one, isn't it?

van morrison - cleaning windows (studio-1982) w/mark knopfler throwing down wicked licks ...

Just a couple of working men in their prime ... rocking a kickass groove ... this ones for all the working people out there!

As usual, best enjoyed LOUD

Oh, the smell of the bakery from across the street
Got in my nose
As we carried our ladders down the street
With the wrought-iron gate rows

I went home and listened to Jimmie Rodgers in my lunch-break
Bought five Woodbines at the shop on the corner
And went straight back to work

Oh, Sam was up on top
And I was on the bottom with a V
We went for lemonade and Paris buns
At the shop and broke for tea

I collected from the lady
And I cleaned the fanlight inside-out
I was blowing saxophone on the weekend
In a down joint

What's my line?
I'm happy cleaning windows
Take my time
I'll see you when my love grows

Baby don't let it slide
I'm a working man in my prime
Cleaning windows

Dig this ...

I heard Leadbelly and Blind Lemon
On the street where I was born
Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee,
Muddy Waters singin' "I'm A Rolling Stone"

I went home and read my Christmas Humphrey's Book on Zen
Curiosity Killed the Cat
Kerouac's "Dharma Bums" and "On The Road"

What's my line?
I'm happy cleaning windows
Take my time
I'll see you when my love grows

Baby don't let it slide
I'm a working man in my prime
Cleaning windows...

van morrison - caravan (studio-1970) side 1 of moondance is one of the greatest sides EVER, period

Might be the greatest ending 2 minutes to a song that's ever been done (starting at 3:00) ... but every second of this song is f***ing brilliant.

'and the barefoot gypsy boy round the campfire sing and play ... and the woman tells us of her ways'

Of course, I have to recommend you TURN IT UP, TURN IT UP ... so ya know ... it's got soul!

the call - i still believe (studio-1985) tell me this one don't take ya back :)

Pride of Santa Cruz, CA right here ... well, along with Camper Van Beethoven, of course

The album Reconciled featured Peter Gabriel, Jim Kerr, Garth Hudson and Robbie Robertson ... still a solid record to this day ... and this is still a powerful song ...

jellyfish - new mistake (studio-1993) baptized the baby in whiskey and licorice ...

no way I'm letting the jellyfish vibe go without a contribution ...

I saw 'em this tour at the Warfield, SF ... this fledgling act who didn't even have an album out yet were the openers ... some dudes ... I think they were called like 'Counting Crows' or something like that ... they were pretty friggin' killer too

The outro harmonies of this song were one of my all-time favorite concert moments ever ...

In case you don't believe me
