WashPost Reports Trump Asked Coats To Intervene With Comey

The Washington Post has breaking news that Trump might have asked Director of National Intelligence Director Coats to intervene with Comey to get him to back off the Flynn investigation.

I’m putting this up quick, but it raises a very important question.

Trump has loyalty to no one, yet he has consistently tried to stop the investigation of Flynn. Now why would that be? I think, more and more, that Flynn has the keys to the kingdom, and knows just how deeply Trump was involved in the Russian act of war when they meddled in our election.

Trump has not hesitated to throw any of his close krew under the bus. Christie, Giuliani, now even Sessions — all these guys sold their very souls for Trump, and he has thrown every one of them under the bus. Yet Flynn? He’s the golden boy.

Only four months into the job, sycophantic Jeff Sessions is already threatening to resign

Nothing to see here, just the complete collapse of trust and cooperation between the idiot man-child and the hired members of his own administration.

As the White House braces for former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Thursday, sources tell ABC News the relationship between President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become so tense that Sessions at one point recently even suggested he could resign. [...]

Asked by ABC News if the attorney general had threatened or offered to resign, Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores declined to comment.

Jeff Sessions was one of Trump's most reliable backers, shares Trump's contempt for civil rights and the rights of immigrants, and has been on the job for less than four months—and the relationship is already going to hell.

Perhaps it does not matter how many sycophants and loyalists Trump surrounds himself with. Regardless of how much assistance they give him or how slavishly they attempt to cater to his rapidly shifting whims Donald Trump is simply incapable of carrying out the duties of the office.

Trump Threw A Tantrum And Ticked Off Germany By Calling The Germans Very Very Evil

US President Donald Trump complained bitterly about the German trade surplus on his meeting with the EU top in Brussels. “The Germans are evil, very evil,” said Trump. This was learned by the SPIEGEL from participants in the meeting. Trump said, “Look at the millions of cars they sell in the US, and we’ll stop that.”

The world’s only superpower is being run by a man who has to have his television time monitored because cable news gets him too riled up and makes him want to tweet.

Trump’s tantrum is the lead in all of the German newspapers because it sounds like this president is aching for a trade war that will destroy the US economy. Donald Trump wants to slap a tariff on the imports of American allies.

If Donald Trump wants German cars no longer sold in the United States, he better be prepared for American products not be sold in Germany.

The Germans aren’t evil for making cars that Americans want to buy. The only evil in this conversation resides between Trump’s ears because the president is apparently trying to destroy free market capitalism.

Chaffetz Miffed By FBIs Deferral Of His Request For Comeys Trump Memos

House Oversight Committee Chair Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) responded to the FBI’s deferral of his request for documents that fired FBI Director James Comey reportedly wrote about his interactions with President Donald Trump by sending a second request.

“The focus of the Committee’s investigation is the independence of the FBI,” Chaffetz wrote Thursday in a letter to acting FBI Director Andrew G. McCabe. “The records being withheld are central to those questions.”

He said the House Oversight Committee “in no way wants to impede or interfere with the Special Counsel’s ability to conduct his investigation” but asked the FBI to “produce these documents to the Committee immediately.”

In its response to Chaffetz’s original request, the FBI cited the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to oversee the investigation into whether members of Trump’s campaign colluded with Russian officials.

“In light of this development and other considerations, we are undertaking appropriate consultation to ensure all relevant interests implicated by your report are properly evaluated,” Gregory A. Brower, the assistant director for the bureau’s Office of Congressional Affairs, wrote in a letter to Chaffetz.

Hello fellow DUers.

I currently reside in Metro Atlanta and not working so was looking for some thought provoking conversation to spend time perusing as well as factual (i.e., non-"fake news&quot forums with accurate news updates. I just recently stumbled upon this site from a HuffingtonPost comment. Glad I did and enjoying the dialogue and enormous info provided. Heads Up - Eyes on Upcoming Georgia Special Election

Jon Ossoff’s special election is the FIRST competitive Congressional race of the Trump era. Ossoff is leading 31.7% to 24.9% (nearest competitor); no others broke the 20% mark; 17.6 are undecided. Ossoff is running in a red district, but one where Trump struggled last year with only a single point win (48-47).

Ossoff is running full steam ahead to fill Tom Price's seat (Trump’s appointee as secretary of Health and Human Services). He has the full support of Congressmen John Lewis and Hank Johnson, as well as Rachael Maddow, to name a few. He's runnining in an 18-person field and doing extremely well.

This Special Election will be held on April 18. All eyes are on Georgia. So, please support a Jon Ossoff win and we can replace Trump's anti-Obamacare hatchet man with a Democrat in Congress.
