BigmanPigman's JournalHas anyone watched Pelosi's documentary by her daughter yet?
It is called Pelosi In The House and was documented by her filmmaker daughter. It has been promoted on several MSNBC shows this past week. It is on HBO and HBO Max. I watched it and was very, very impressed but the sound of tRump's voice makes me want to puke, as usual. I am so proud of the Dems for making her Speaker. I am also so glad that my last costume for Halloween (pre-Covid) I was Nancy in the signature red coat, brown bobbed hair and sunglasses. My very Blue neighborhood had a ton of little RBGs running all over the streets the previous Halloween so most people knew who I was, especially when I did the "extended flat hand clapping" that Nancy did to tRump after his lying SOTU speech. I even put my atheistic judgments aside when she went to visit the Pope and talks about praying and being a Catholic. I wish she did punch tRump in the face...I have wanted to do that for over 6 years and I am a 5'1" pacifist. I want to punch my TV when I hear his voice (like nails on a chalkboard) and almost did again while watching this film. I don't know how she controlled herself.
"MOVIE INFO

People who skipped their COVID vaccine are at higher risk of traffic accidents....
"People who skipped their COVID vaccine are at higher risk of traffic accidents, according to a new study
The findings could justify changes to driver insurance policies, the authors say."
"...Or at least those are the findings of a new study published this month in The American Journal of Medicine. During the summer of 2021, Canadian researchers examined the encrypted government-held records of more than 11 million adults, 16% of whom hadnt received the COVID vaccine."
"They found that the unvaccinated people were 72% more likely to be involved in a severe traffic crashin which at least one person was transported to the hospitalthan those who were vaccinated. Thats similar to the increased risk of car crashes for people with sleep apnea, though only about half that of people who abuse alcohol, researchers found."
"Of course, skipping a COVID vaccine does not mean that someone will get into a car crash. Instead, the authors theorize that people who resist public health recommendations might also neglect basic road safety guidelines.
"Why would they ignore the rules of the road? Distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, faith in natural protection, antipathy toward regulation, poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs are potential reasons proposed by the authors."

Mental Illness Does Not Excuse Kanye's Antisemitism, Even If It Explains It
https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2022/10/kanye-west-anti-semitism-mental-illness-bipolar-jews-white-lives-matter.htmlThis is from Oct., 2022.
Kanye West has been having mental-health issues and hes also been histrionically antisemitic. In recent days, debates over whether there is any relationship between these two facts have roiled the discourse.
"The impulsiveness and egotism of Wests recent behavior is consistent with the symptoms of a manic episode, and West has previously spoken about his struggles with bipolar disorder. Still, many insist on drawing a sharp line between his disordered mental state and his odious ideological pronouncements. They argue, quite rightly, that neither bigotry nor antisemitism are characteristic symptoms of bipolar disorder. People with mental disorders are no more prone to hatefulness than those without. To suggest otherwise by baselessly attributing Wests antisemitism to his psychiatric affliction is both to promote stigma against people suffering from mental illness and to excuse his hateful diatribes as helpless spasms, if not harmless amusements.
"But whether his bigoted beliefs and/or his attraction to controversy derives from his mood disorder seems far less clear. There are plenty of bigoted billionaires who suffer from no mental-health issues. To attribute Wests hateful sentiments solely to his condition not only stigmatizes his fellow sufferers but also obscures the cultural wellsprings of antisemitism: If you place a paranoid, manic narcissist into a society bereft of antisemitic ideology, hatred of Jewish people will not magically emerge from their mood swings."
Has anyone experienced poor performance with Samsung
products? It seems like their tablets suck and their phones are about the same. Their customer service and could use a lot of work, too.
There has not been a mass shooting in the last 4 days....
Should we celebrate?
Is it "news" when one of these "events" isn't in the national news for more than 4 days? I am finding myself becoming numb to all of the mass shootings anymore. It is almost like a rarity to see none on the news when I turn on the TV. What has the country become?
Cannabis is not the pain killer some hoped it would be.....
https://www.sciencealert.com/cannabis-for-pain-relief-review-of-20-studies-provides-sobering-results"Although cannabis (and cannabis-derived products, such as CBD) may be widely used for reducing pain, how effective it really is in doing this is still unclear. This is what our recent systematic review and meta-analysis sought to uncover.
Our study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, suggests cannabis is no better at relieving pain than a placebo.
There are numerous examples of the relationship between treatment expectations and placebo responses. If a person thinks they will experience relief from their pain by using a certain product or treatment, this can change the way they end up perceiving incoming pain signals making them think their pain is less severe. Recent evidence suggests that the placebo effect may work even if we're presented with evidence that contradicts our initial expectations."
*My own personal experience over the last 30 years supports this theory. I have tried it for everything from menstrual cramps and migraines to pancreatitus and it has never reduced any of my pain. It helps me sleep at night and that is with 90% Indica so that is why I use it.
