Copied from a friend's post, who said it better than I could....bravo!

Franklin Graham claims God was absent from the Democratic Convention. So I posted this comment on his Facebook page in response. "God was absent?
I saw God in a thirteen year old boy speaking out about how an act of kindness made him feel good about himself.
I heard God's voice in Gabby Gifford's re-learning to use hers.
I saw God in Senator Duckworth standing tall on artificial legs after losing her own in service for our country.
I saw God in the woman whose life of service was inspired by a mother who asked, "What are you going to do about making it better?"
I heard God in the voice of a man who has never lost his faith despite being sorely tested in many ways.
So no, Franklin you might not have heard the name God invoked as you will during the Republican convention, but God was not absent — you just had to be open minded enough to hear him."

This part IS mine.
Despite the false memes I have seen, they did not strike the words “under God” from the pledge of allegiance.

The message that Biden/Harris sent was one of compassion and decisive action to make things better for those most in need. That’s what I learned in my faith training.
They do not defend nor accept attacks on others based on birthplace, color, or ability. They believe that elected officials must consider all the country, not just the parts that voted for them, or those who can reward them economically.
I believe faith supports social and economic justice.
Franklin Graham comes up short in many measures, but I’m not his judge. As I recall, it was he without sin that may cast the first stone.

Whole 30....pros and cons

I’m 68 and packed on the “Covid 15”....I’m at the pre-diabetic stage and at my last physical I had lowered my A1C to within the acceptable range with exercise at the gym and lowering my carb and sugar intake. Covid threw all that out the window! I just recently felt it was safe enough to go back to the gym (the club I am a member of due to my Medicare supplement, is the largest athletic club in WI and has it’s act together complying to CDC mandates and suggestions) but my daughter has been urging me to change my eating habits and doing the Whole 30 beginning 9-1.

I would like to lose 17 lbs and realize Whole 30 isn’t technically a weight loss program, but it should help keep my A1C levels low enough that I wouldn’t be a candidate for big pharma meds, right?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I donate on a monthly basis to Mark Pocan and he sent me this bumper sticker! I don’t do “bumper stickers” but will find a place for it on the inside looking out!

And it’s displayed!

Ye gads my car needs a car wash!

Now it’s statement is complete!

What a wonderful First Family!

They give me GOOSEBUMPS just thinking about them. Less than 3 months and hopefully they can go back to wherever the hell they came from.

"Sometimes I wish I could try on white skin"

By Arnold Ragas:
Sometimes my black life matters.
"It mattered the day I was walking to my car at Lenox when I was ordered inside a police car until I sufficiently explained my purpose for being in the deck. My keys in hand provided no clue. It mattered the very next time I was in the deck and again ordered inside a police car until I again sufficiently explained my purpose.
My black life mattered the day I was helping someone move her furniture from her apartment to a moving van when several police officers pointed their guns at me until I sufficiently explained my purpose. Carrying a microwave to a moving van provided no clue.
My black life mattered the day I was looking through storefront windows and police detained me and questioned me until I sufficiently explained my purpose. It mattered further when I reached into my pocket for my wallet and they pulled their guns on me. My black life almost became matter on the pavement.
