Le Gaucher
Le Gaucher's JournalHere is a suggestion on ACA..that may be unpopular on this board..but
May actually drive down costs for all.
How about a clause that will allow hospitals to deny treatment ( ER or elsewhere ) if you dont have insurance or the ability to pay upfront estimated cost of treatment. In exchange hospitals should not be allowed to charge more for uninsured patients .. Same fucking rates for everyone.
Exceptions will obviously have to be made ( accidents where the patient is not in a position to proof of coverage) or some other circumstances that i cannot think of yet.
But short of single payer funded through taxes, we need a stronger prod to increase the size of the risk pool. Tax penalty isn't strong enough to force everyone.
Are the 'moderate' Republican ( yeah right!!) Senators okay with the bill
Only 4 kooks have spoken out against it..
I think McTurtle will replace a comma with a semicolon and these 4 jokers will say that they are satisfied.
We Know How This Ends.

Dissent is all part of the script. Trumpcare is right where Republicans want it.
To walk into the Senate side of the U.S. Capitol on Thursday morning was less to enter an ongoing, real-life debate of mysterious outcome than to assume your role in a hackneyed script.
About 100 reporters huddled outside the Mike Mansfield Room, where Republican senators were meeting to unveil the Better Care Reconciliation Act. Reporters in the script asked the senators questions as they entered, and senators, per the script, said, Well see. After the meeting, senators responded to most questions with, Im still reviewing the text, but its a promising start. At least this is what the rank and file, who are largely content with the product, said.
The script requires small groups of moderates and conservatives to each have problems with the bill. They will now go about seeking changesprobably already known to the author, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, but preserved for revelation in a later act.

It may or may not be an act .. but I think this will ultimately pass senate.
Predictions for the Partisan Gerrymandering in SCOTUS
I dont think there will be any surprises here
5-4 with rouges in robes in the majority.
This is the only way Republican have a majority in the house. I will be highly surprised if the vote goes any other way.
Special counsel is investigating Trump for possible obstruction of justice, officials say
Source: Washington post
The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russias role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.
The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trumps own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.
Trump had received private assurances from former FBI Director James B. Comey starting in January that he was not personally under investigation. Officials say that changed shortly after Comeys firing.

Take that MoFo!!
Democrats should push for Universal Adult Franchise
Every citizen should be allowed to vote.
1) Everyone with or without ID should be allowed to vote. Unless the Government takes it upon itself to guarantee that every citizen has a voter ID card - free of charge or hassle.
2) Everyone with a state or federal felony history should be allowed to vote.
3) Prisoners should be allowed to vote in Prisons.
4) The sick/infirm should be allowed to vote by mail without having to plan for it.
NO EXCEPTIONS. Fuck states rights. Citizen's right TRUMP state's rights. If anyone violated the law - its because we have failed them more often than they have failed us. They deserve a say in our politics.
We need to whip this up into a unifying issue for all Democrats and turn it a huge stick to beat the repukes with.
While we were having our popcorn parties..congress guts Dodd Frank
http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_5939af49e4b0c5a35c9d91d8?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009WASHINGTON ― While much of the political world was watching the fallout from former FBI Director James Comeys Senate testimony Thursday, House Republicans were jamming through a bill that would largely gut the financial regulations in Dodd-Frank, the landmark banking legislation passed in 2010 after the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
But instead of quietly sneaking the legislation through, Republicans were loudly touting the bill ― which passed, 233-186, with all Democrats and one Republican (Walter Jones of North Carolina) voting no ― as a major victory.
Just heard on Wolf Blitzer .. Sessions under investigation for a possible 3rd meeting
With russians in April 2016 .. This was previously not disclosed and was revealed by comey in closed session
I pray that for one day Republicans forget who is in the white house
Just for one day .... I wish all of congressmen and senators and rightwing radio hosts would behave naturally as they would if they thought Clinton was in the Whitehouse doing all things that Trump did.
Its ok if the spell snapped the next day.
I would give an arm and a leg to see that unfold.
