Here's a good summary on the Bolton book deal....

Article starts by listing some of Trump's msot shocking sins and goes on to explain Trump's law suit to stop publication:

Here are the most explosive claims former national security adviser John Bolton made about Trump in his upcoming book
Business Insider
Grace Panetta and Sonam Sheth

Read it here: https://www.businessinsider.com/john-bolton-book-most-explosive-claims-about-trump-2020-6

Excerpt:
The New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal published details from it on Wednesday based on prepublication copies they obtained of the book, "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir."
+++
On Tuesday, the Trump administration sued the former national security adviser to prevent him from releasing the book. The lawsuit against Bolton accuses him of breaking his contract by backing out of the National Security Council's ongoing vetting process to determine whether his book contains classified information that needs to be redacted or edited down.

The NSC "quickly identified significant quantities of classified information that it asked Defendant to remove," the complaint said. "An iterative process between NSC Staff and Defendant then began, as required by the binding agreements he signed, with changes to the book and other information being securely passed between Defendant and NSC staff. Soon, though, Defendant apparently became dissatisfied at the pace of NSC's review."

The suit alleges that instead of waiting for the process to conclude, Bolton "decided to take matters into his own hands."

I wouldn't trust John Bolton as far as I could throw him but the dirt is appreciated if true.

More than three weeks since the death of George Floyd, anti-racism protests are continuing across the US. While in many cases peaceful, the protests have also featured scenes of police brutality, looting and violence.

Politicians, law enforcement and commentators on the left and right have accused a number of fringe groups of encouraging and participating in acts of violence.

BBC News has been examining these groups on social media platforms.

Informative article that summarizes the foundations, activities and symbols of these groups.

Coronavirus: Hundreds of abattoir workers test positive in Germany

Source: BBC News

Thousands of people in Germany have been told to go into quarantine after a coronavirus outbreak at an abattoir.

More than 650 people have tested positive for the virus at the meat processing plant in Gütersloh, in the north-west of the country.

Operations at the site have been suspended since Wednesday afternoon.

Over 1,000 workers have been tested so far, with thousands of others still awaiting testing. They and the people they came into contact with have been told to been told to remain in quarantine until they receive their results.

Posted this one to reemphasize the plight of meat processing workers around the globe. Like the U.S., I would wager these German workers are mostly immigrants with no representation or voice.

I sincerely believe meat processing worker sicknesses and deaths in the U.S. are severely under-reported because the companies hide their data and because few workers are willing to report problems for fear of losing their jobs. That conclusion is based on looking at infection and death data from counties where packing plants are located.

Yep, I believe her. She definitely is not against fascism.

For those like me who were wondering where this event occurred, this Baber person appeared before the Ventura County (CA) Board of Supervisors recently and now has herself on the YouTube for all to see.

Baber is not your average Trump supporter in Ventura County. She a co-founder of the for-profit Republican Values Center, which sells merchandise such as flag-decorated clothing and MAGA gear that includes watches and 2020 election socks, according to the Star.

Run by four women, all of whom are members of the Republican Women Federated community chapter, Republican Values Center is a dues-paying group that hosts gatherings at a 3,600 square-foot space located in a shopping center 2878 Cochran Street.

The company’s president, Patricia Saraceno, who once served as a Simi Valley area manager for former U.S. Representative Steve Knight, hopes their for-profit foundation is the beginning of a grassroots movement. “We hope there is one on every corner,” Saraceno told the Star. “The goal is to turn California back to the conservative red state it once was. We like to refer to it as a safe space for like-minded individuals who share the American values.”

I would place this issue square in the lap of Republicans, not the cops.....

for cutting local, state and federal budgets to the bare bone, and for their corrupt influence on police training.

The result is....
* Small and medium-size communities don't receive enough revenue to hire well-trained, competent police officers or to properly equip them.
* Using the mantra of "the other" or "those people", Republican political dogma stokes mass fear in our communities so that many citizens turn a blind eye to police impropriety.
* Using the mantra of fear of Islamic terrorism through political dogma in right-wing media, they used federal funds to militarize our police forces and to influence the curriculum of schools where officers are trained.

Most influential Rethugs live in gated, guarded communities and don't give a damn about the public's security. They also don't give a shit about low income and people of color receiving due process or fair justice and just say "lock them up".

Our police have not become what they are by accident. What Republicans want police and our military for is only to protect corporate interests.

KY rant done....

The thing that worries me the most is the fast mass response of those thugs.

That suggest to me they have an network that's almost certainly on social media which allows them to issue a call to arms to respond quickly to any event they don't like. Assembling 800 counter-protesters (many with guns) didn't happen by coincidence.

Not only did they intimidate and stoke fear into the small band of protesters, they also did so with that tiny local police force.

The clear aim of the right-wing and their helpmate Russia is to intimidate and to quench any dissension directed at their fascist dogma.

That is about as anti-American as it gets......

June 16, 2020

That sums it up well. Republicans love to spend enough that...

our deficit increases after which they can yell "deficit, time to cut spending". Hypocrites!

I used to get furious when hearing their favorite Reagan mantra: "don't you feel you can spend your money better than the government?"

I would reply: "No, I've never been worth a damn at building interstates, schools or parks, testing my food's safety or negotiating treaties and I feel they do those things very efficiently without profit."

Republicans Defunded The Police We Need

Republicans Defunded The Police We Need
Trump and the GOP pretend they love law enforcement -- but they eliminated the cops that protect us from the world’s most dangerous and powerful criminals.

Read it here: https://sirota.substack.com/p/republicans-defunded-the-police-we

Trump has called himself the “president of law and order,” but these efforts to defund the police have created lawlessness and disorder. And yet, that hasn’t been mentioned by the politicians and pundits pretending to be scandalized by protesters’ demands for a change in criminal justice priorities.

Apparently, we’re expected to be horrified by proposals to reduce funding for the militarized police forces that are violently attacking peaceful protesters -- but we’re supposed to obediently accept the defunding of the police forces responsible for protecting the population from the wealthy and powerful.

This article lists some of the more serious malfeasance during this administration that negatively affects everyday American's lives, income and security.

Call it a starter do-list for Joe.......
