Second senior Russian-appointed Kherson official injured in his car
Source: Reuters
A Russian-appointed deputy governor of Ukraine's Kherson region, Vitaly Bulyuk, was injured on Monday when his car exploded, Russia's Interfax news agency reported, citing the occupation administration's health minister.
Five weeks ago, Kirill Stremousov, another deputy head of the Russian-installed Kherson administration, was killed in a car crash after his driver tried to avoid hitting a truck, according to authorities.
Shortly afterwards, Moscow ordered its troops to withdraw from the western part of Kherson province on the west bank of the Dnipro river, which had been occupied since early in Russia's invasion of Ukraine and annexed by Russia in October.
Moscow calls its war in Ukraine a "special military operation" to degrade the Ukrainian military and remove what it says is a potential threat against its own security. Ukraine and its allies call the war that began in late February an unprovoked act of aggression.

Board of Elections 'Discrepancy' Puts Mayoral Primary Vote in Disarray
Source: New York Times
The New York City mayors race plunged into chaos on Tuesday night after the city Board of Elections released a new tally of votes in the Democratic mayoral primary, and then, several hours later, removed the tabulations from its website while citing a discrepancy.
The results released earlier in the day had suggested that the race between Eric Adams and his two closest rivals had tightened significantly.
But just a few hours after releasing the results, the elections board issued a mysterious tweet revealing a discrepancy in the report, saying that it was working with its technical staff to identify where the discrepancy occurred.
The discrepancy was related to the difference in votes cast between what was disclosed on primary night and the results released on Tuesday, according to a Board of Elections official.

Basically, you know those ranked choice votes that were released earlier today? They may be inaccurate due to a mistake from the New York Board of Elections.

Per 538, Biden's approval is at the highest it's been since his inauguration.
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/biden-approval-rating/His 55 percent average approval is the highest its been since immediately after his inauguration.
Its also worth noting that Bidens approval/disapproval is 55/39, or +16. Trump spent much of his term around 45/55, or -10.
It means that roughly the same 55 percent that disapproved of Trump, approve of Biden, which makes sense. But theres a 6 percent difference between Trumps approval and Bidens disapproval...meaning theres a small but not insignificant amount of voters that approved of Trump, but DONT disapprove of Biden.

Am I missing something in terms of priorities here?
Do you know any "independents" that are actually independents?
I ask because I know a few people who will claim to be independents, but all they do is spew right-wing talking points and vote for Republicans. My neighbor swears that he's an independent because he voted for Obama in 2008...but leaves out that he's voted straight ticket GOP in every election since then.
