FoxNews op ed: Judge Nap lets trump have it.
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/judge-andrew-napolitano-president-constitution-againIn nearly three years in office, President Trump has spent federal dollars not authorized by Congress, separated families and incarcerated children at the Texas-Mexico border in defiance of a federal court order, pulled 1,000 American troops out of Syria ignoring a commitment to allies and facilitating war against civilians, and sent 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia without a congressional declaration of war.
He has also criminally obstructed a Department of Justice investigation of himself but escaped prosecution because of the intercession of an attorney general more loyal to him than to the Constitution.
...
Trump has become known for forceful and often tasteless banter. He publicly calls people crude names, uses foul language and sends dog whistles of lawless behavior to much of his base. All that is a question of free speech, personal taste and political risk.
But threats to ignore parts of the Constitution are not matters of speech, taste or risk. They reveal character traits that question Trump's fitness for office.

80+ pages of detailed data and analysis from the House's Russia Investigation, such as it was, including the obstruction and lies by the Majority Republicans

I wonder who authored this. Sounds like Schiff's voice.
And today Nunes is whining that Schiff won't call his crazy-pants list of witnesses.
March 26, 2018: Minority (Democrats) Report upon R's termination of Russia Investigation
https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/20180411_-_final_-_hpsci_minority_views_on_majority_report.pdf80+ pages of detailed data and analysis from the House's Russia Investigation, such as it was, including the obstruction and lies by the Majority Republicans
One year later, the Committees Majority has shattered its commitment by rushing to end its...
investigation prematurely, even as it continues to investigate President Donald Trumps political
opponents, our intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and diplomatic corps, and former
members of the Administration of President Barack Obama.
In so doing, the Majority has not only failed to meet the mandate given to the HPSCI by the
Speaker of the House and the Minority Leader, but they have engaged in a systematic effort to
muddy the waters, and to deflect attention away from the President, most recklessly in their
assault on the central pillars of the rule of law. Their report, as with their overall conduct of the
investigation, is unworthy of this Committee, the House of Representatives, and most
importantly, the American people, who are now left to try to discern what is true and what is not.
The Majoritys report reflects a lack of seriousness and interest in pursuing the truth. By refusing...
to call in key witnesses, by refusing to request pertinent documents, and by refusing to compel
and enforce witness cooperation and answers to key questions, the Majority hobbled the
Committees ability to conduct a credible investigation that could inspire public confidence. The
Majoritys conduct has also undermined Congress independent investigative authority. Their
repeated deferrals to the White House allowed witnesses to refuse cooperation, and permitted the
Administration to dictate the terms of their interaction with Congress, or evade congressional
oversight altogether, setting a damaging precedent for future non-cooperation by this President
and, possibly, by his successors.
As the Committees Majority, the Republican Members, led by Chairman Nunes, held the power...
to dictate the pace and terms for our investigation, including which witnesses to call in and
when; which documents to request; whether to issue subpoenas; and, when necessary, whether to
enforce Congress power to compel testimony and production of documents. Regrettably,
following a brief spell of bipartisanship after the Chairman announced on April 6, 2017 that
other Majority Members would temporarily take charge of the Committees Russia
investigation due to a House Ethics Committee investigation into his actions, the Majority
wielded their power to stymie the investigation.10
The Majority circumscribed severely, and at times affirmatively blocked, important aspects of
our work. Most distressing, they exhibited a fundamental disinterest in pursuing core lines of
inquiry authorized by the Committees Scope of Investigation. Their report reflects this lack of
investigative vigor.
On March 13, 2018, the Committee Minority released an update Status of the Russian
Investigation to inform the American public of the Committees outstanding areas of inquiry
(see Appendix A).11 This status update provides a snapshot of the investigative leads and steps
left unaddressed as the Majority moved to shutter the investigation. These include more than 30
key witnesses yet to be interviewed (selected from a more extensive witness list, which is
attached at Appendix C); more than 20 entities from which documents have yet to be requested;
and more than 15 subpoenas that the Majority never issued or enforced. This followed a
November 7, 2017 letter from Ranking Member Schiff to Representative Conaway, attached at
Appendix B, in which the Minority outlined over 60 individuals and entities from which the
Committee should request or compel cooperation. The Committee subsequently interviewed
fewer than half the individuals on the list, many of whom provided incomplete or potentially
misleading testimony, and did not request the specified documents.
Much much more at link.

Nunes buried evidence on Russian meddling to protect Trump. I know because Im on the committee
BY REP. ERIC SWALWELL

...
Committee Democrats asked to immediately send the transcripts to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who hasnt been allowed to see them under Nunes rules. Theres good reason to believe many witnesses committed perjury or offered information relevant to the special counsels work. But Nunes opposed it, and it was voted down.
Committee Democrats then moved to have the transcripts released to the public immediately after a 10-day intelligence community review to avoid any selective release or other political manipulation. Again, Nunes opposed this.
...
The Republicans ran a take them at their word investigation when most of the Trump team clearly didnt deserve that benefit of the doubt. So at last weeks hearing, I moved to subpoena many of the records that could fill a lot of the gaps. Nunes nixed it.
...
The Nunes fix was in from the very start. Soon after 2016s election, as we began to see the breadth of Russias interference, I had approached him with an idea: Lets have an independent commission look at what the Russians did, just as we had after the Sept. 11 attacks.
We can handle this on the committee, Nunes insisted. I was doubtful, but I never expected that by handle, he meant bury.

Flashback: Nunes ended Russia investigation without calling dozens of relevant witnesses
and then the Republican members of the committee voted to conceal the transcripts. Transparency!

NEW YORK New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that the New York Supreme Court ordered Donald J. Trump to pay $2 million in damages for improperly using charitable assets to intervene in the 2016 presidential primaries and further his own political interests. The award is part of Attorney General James lawsuit against the Donald J. Trump Foundation and its directors Mr. Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.
As part of the settlement, Attorney General James also announced that her office entered into multiple stipulations with the Trump Foundation and its directors to resolve the remaining claims in the lawsuit. Chiefly, Mr. Trump admits to personally misusing funds at the Trump Foundation, and agrees to restrictions on future charitable service and ongoing reporting to the Office of the Attorney General in the event he creates a new charity. The settlements also include mandatory training requirements for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. Finally, the settlements name the charities that will receive the remaining assets of the Trump Foundation as part of its dissolution.
...
Last year, in December 2018, following a court decision in favor of the Attorney Generals Office, the first stipulation took effect when the Trump Foundation agreed to shutter its doors and dissolve under court supervision. In October 2019, the Office of the Attorney General entered three additional stipulations. One stipulation ensures that the Foundations remaining assets will go to reputable charities approved by Attorney General James and that have no connection to Mr. Trump or his family members. Another stipulation ensures that Donald Trump, Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump received training on the duties of officers and directors of charities so that they cannot allow the illegal activity they oversaw at the Trump Foundation to take place again.
The third stipulation includes 19 paragraphs of factual admissions by Mr. Trump and the Foundation of illegal activity. Mr. Trump admitted that the Foundations board of directors of which he was chair failed to meet, failed to provide oversight over the Foundation, and failed to adopt legally required policies and procedures. He also admitted that these failures contributed to the Foundations participation in seven related party transactions described in the settlement document and in the Attorney Generals lawsuit.

Trump Foundation Will Dissolve, Accused of Shocking Pattern of Illegality
New York Times, December 18, 2018
"The Donald J. Trump Foundation, once billed as the charitable arm of the presidents financial empire, agreed to dissolve on Tuesday and give away all its remaining assets under court supervision as part of an ongoing investigation and lawsuit by the New York attorney general.
The foundation was accused by the attorney general, Barbara Underwood, of functioning as little more than a checkbook to serve Mr. Trumps business and political interests, and of engaging in a shocking pattern of illegality that included unlawfully coordinating with Mr. Trumps 2016 presidential campaign.
In addition to shuttering the charity, her office has pursued a lawsuit that could bar President Trump and his three oldest children from the boards of other New York charities, as well as force the payment of millions in restitution and penalties."
...
Ms. Underwoods office sued the Trump Foundation in June, charging it with improper and extensive political activity, repeated and willful self-dealing transactions, and failure to follow basic fiduciary obligations or to implement even elementary corporate formalities required by law.

New polling shows this: inverse relationship btwn college education and trump-voter
white Non-college men are the most likely to vote for trump - still.
The GOP knows this. That is why they have no interest in making it easier for this group to go to college (excluding their OWN children, of course).
This pushes me toward free college, free community college, all manner of assistance with any type of post-high school training or education. It lifts people away from ignorant trump-like beliefs.
