The future of the Republican Party
February 13, 2021
"Cancel Culture" is a right wing talking point
used to demonize people being held accountable for their actions. It is the same as terms like the death tax or partial birth abortion that both misrepresent and vilify. Conservatives dont want any accountability for what they say or do so they need to make accountability sound bad. Just as when they advocate free speech, they are really advocating consequence free speech. So remember next time you see a republican or libertarian railing against liberals for cancel culture or accusing liberals of being against free speech what they are really doing.

Seems like a minor transgression even if true.
Anyone have more info on Warnock being investigated?
Warnock Under Investigation for Role in Stacey Abrams Voter Registration Org

Senator Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.) is under investigation for his involvement in the New Georgia Project, a voter registration organization founded by Stacey Abrams, which officials say failed to follow state election deadlines in 2019.
The Georgia State Election Board voted 3-0 Wednesday to launch an investigation into Warnocks time as chairman of the board for the New Georgia Project in 2019, when officials say the group violated state election rules that require voting registration organizations to submit completed voter application within ten days after they are received from the voter.
Officials say the New Georgia Project submitted 1,268 applications to the Gwinnett County elections office after the ten-day deadline in 2019.

Van Jones Flails as 'The View' Calls Out His Flip-Flopping on Trump
Van Jones Flails as The View Calls Out His Flip-Flopping on Trump: Do You Not Regret That?
By Claire Spellberg @c_spellberg Feb 5, 2021 at 12:32pm
If Van Jones thought his Friday appearance on The View would be a breeze, he was sorely mistaken. During a contentious interview, co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro grilled Jones on his flip-flopping stance on former President Donald Trump, which has led to a diminishing sense of trust within the Black community. Jones was visibly flustered as he attempted to address Hostin and Navarros questions, and he immediately got defensive about his record as a prison reform advocate and his belief in bipartisanship. Yikes.
Hostin wasted no time on Friday morning before addressing Jones controversial position among those on the left. You do spent a lot of time threading the middle and trying to unite people, but there are those who really accuse you of being a political opportunist, a chameleon, so to speak, who provided racial cover for disgraced, twice-impeached President Trump, she said, before reading a quote from Jones defending the good stuff Trump did for Black Americans. People in the Black community dont trust you anymore. What is your response?
Jones immediately insisted that he doesnt think Hostins characterization of the situation is true, and accused social media users of taking his words out of context. My entire life has been about bringing people together to solve tough problems for people at the very bottom who dont have anything, he said. By working with Republicans at the local, state, and federal level and yes, including the Trump administration I have helped to pass 18 bipartisan bills. We got 14,000 people out of the federal prison system.
