People, including Trumpers, Ammosexuals, RWNJs, Indies, Conservatives and Moderate Democrats,

need to understand, we have NO RIGHTS!

That includes the 2nd Amendment, too.

If the government can set up "free speech zones" away from people who object to having different opinions, so Republican Conventions don't have to hear protests (see Bush RNC 2004 NYC); since the 4th Amendment is basically ignored; the "Right to Vote" is, in effect, subject to "interpretations" and other legal actions(?); the 8th Amendment is such a joke it isn't even applicable any longer (unless you're rich or famous); the 7th Amendment has been abused by Republican Judges and Legislators for 40 years; the 6th is currently being destroyed by Garland, et al.; the 10th is being abused by mostly Red States; the 9th is so ignored only 1 out of, maybe 10,000 are aware of it; then our Government, Supine Laughable Court, can do as they damn well please, on anything they want.

I could go one but, no, we today HAVE NO RIGHTS and the Fascist Right understands that. Further they understand the Independents and Moderate Democrats living in their own Walter Mitty world don't give a damn about pretty much anything so long as whatever is done or law is passed doesn't affect them in their comfortable jobs with their decent benefits and "THEY paid off their college loans" so why should they pay for anyone elses and heaven forbid, don't even talk about Health Care for ALL because they think it might somehow impact THEIR lives while making other's less painful and of course, it'll never pass so let's not talk about it right now!.

These Amendments (and more) need to be reworked so they're not subject to legalese interpreations by One-SiIded Courts and those with agendas only for a few.

I got mine, you get yours seems to be the new Mantra of the Indie/Moderate Democrat. Maybe they need a new moniker? How about "ConDems"? At least that term explains what they're trying to do to the rest of us but will be "keeping" it safe for themselves."

And the Word "Progressive" has become evil to even mention to most Moderates. I'm not sure how they think being more conservative has gotten them all the "niceties" they enjoy. We didn't get better living, better communication, more free time, longer lives by saying, "Hey, we need to slow up on this progressive stuff...but keep making new things for me and my family to enjoy."

Tell me about your Freedom for All, now. It's time for a major progressive movement. We've had too much of Reagen/Republican/Fascist doctrine for too many lifetimes. It's time to move forward.

Music Puzzle 3

Music Puzzle Number 3
Round 3 for those interested.

Had a little delay in posting. Things are ok, now.

*********************************

How are your music memories from the 50s, 60s and 70s?

I did a number of questions (they were for crosswords) of music of the 50s to the 70s for our 50 year class reunion in 2016.

These have been redone without the “crossword look” for the reunion and are just straight up snippets of lyrics from some of the songs of that era. Some are easy, some aren’t so easy. The idea is to name the song based on the “snippet” of the lyrics. It went over very well with the classmates.

These lyrics are from the most popular versions as there were “covers” by other singers or groups that may have changed a few words. So if you disagree with an answer, it may be that you remember a different artist’s rendition.

I have 15 of these sheets but don’t know whether to post the answers WITH the posts or wait a day or two to add them or don’t even know if anyone wants anymore. Let me know what you think in the comments.

It might be best to highlight then copy the questions for printing at your leisure, or to try them out on some friends not on DU.
Of course, you can always “cheat” a little by looking up the lyrics on bing or google to get an answer. But that does take the fun out of it.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little diversion from the seriousness of today.

" 32 ..do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal; your eyes have died, you see more than I..."
" 33 ..I was as wrong as I could be, to let you get away from me; I'll regret that move for as long as I'm livin'..."
" 34 ..three deuces and a four-speed, and a 389..."
" 35 ..I bless the day I found you, I want to stay around you, and so I beg you..."
" 36 ..why, she, had to go, I don't know, she didn't say..."
" 37 ..a lady that I know just came from Co-lumbia, she smiled because I did not understand..."
" 38 ..it's late in the evening, she's wondering what clothes to wear; she puts on her makeup, and brushes her long blond hair..."
" 39 ..I long to wake up in the morning and find everything has changed, and all the people that I meet don't wear a frown..."
40 ..it seems so good to see you back again; how long has it been; seems like a mighty long time...
" 41 ..something in the wind has learned my name, and it's telling me that things are not the same..."

Man back on the Moon!

NASA pushed back its manned trip to the moon til 2025.

Maybe Bezos or Tesla could beat them to the punch by early 2024! It wouldn't be hard. Just get someone willing to be enshrined in the "anals" of history who wants to be recognized as the firstest and bestest of everything.

To that end I nominate TFG to be the first on the moon since the 70s with the help of our 2 billionaires! They can get Kirk and other 70s notables so why not the most notable wanting egotist currently on earth?

It really wouldn't be too hard getting him there. I'm sure Jeff would love nothing more than giving his biggest admirer such notoriety...and do it for free. In case there's not enough money, we can start a Go Fund Me site to get him the money or maybe the Chinese Space Agency would volunteer to help (they love him so much!). Of course, there's always Vlad to provide funds for him in case.

Then, in 2025, the NASA mission could bring him back...maybe even get a movie of him called "The Lunarian" or "The Man Who Soiled the Moon."

Oh wait. Just in. NASA MAY have to hold off til late 2025 or 2026. No problem. Set up a remote Fox news site for him and we can watch as he enjoys his extended stay and provides countless interviews.

Looking forward to a new face on the moon!

Then next we could send McCarthy, Jordan, MTG, Boebert...

1 ..dancin'with Marie, he don't act like he knows, she belongs to me...
2 ..I hate to say it but I told you so, don't mind my preachin' to you...
3 ..see the way he walks down the street; watch the way he shuffles his feet; how he holds his head up high when he goes walking by..he's my guy...
4 ..I got some troubles but they won't last; I'm gonna lay right down here in the grass, and pretty soon all my troubles will pass...
5 ..and when my lack of education hasn't hurt me none, I can read the writing on the wall...
6 ..we gonna ride 'til there ain't no more to go, takin' it slow...
7 ..oh when we walk, it seems like paradise, and when we talk, it always feels so nice...
8 ..and when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer...
9 ..since my love has left me, I'm so all alone; I would bring her back to me, but I don't know where she's gone...
10 ..regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention..I did, what I had to do, and saw it through, without exemption...
11 ..on the day that you were born the angels got together, and decided to create a dream come true...
12 ..good God y'all, what is it good for; absolutely nothing...
13 ..so I'm down and so I'm out, but so are many others..so I feel, like tryin' to hide, my head, 'neath these covers...
14 ..put on a ragged sweatshirt, I'll take you anywhere you want to go...
15 ..something in your eyes was so inviting, something in your smile was so exciting, something in my heart told me I must have you...
16 ..you need coolin'; baby I'm not foolin'; I'm gonna send ya, back to schoolin'...
17 ..a long time ago when the earth was green, there was more kinds of animals than you'd ever seen...
18 ..on my way to better things, I found myself some wings; distant roads are calling me...
19 ..when I saw you walkin' down the street, I said," that's the kind of girl I'd like to meet"...
20 ..he was just a hired hand; workin' on the dreams he'd planned, to try..the days go by...
21 ..draw back your bow, and let your arrow go..straight to my lover's heart, for me...
22 ..so please believe me, my heart is in your hand, and I'll be mis-sing you...
23 ..nighttime would find me in Rosa's cantina; music would play and Felina would whirl...
24 ..hey well I'm a friendly stranger in the black sedan, won't you hop inside my car; I got pictures, got candy, I'm a loveable man...
25 ..your mind is filled with the thoughts of a certain someone, that you love...
26 ..we are but a moments sunlight, fading in the grass...
27 ..I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover, you'll know who I am by the song that I sing...
28 ..hey she give me lovin' I feel alright now...
29 ..you think that you're such a smart girl, and I'll believe what you say; but who do you think you are girl, to lead me on this way...
30 ..when I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy...
31 ..hearts go astray, leaving hurt when they go; I went away, just when you, you needed me so...
32 ..lyin' beside you, here in the dark; feeling your heartbeat in mine; softly you whisper, you're so sincere, how could our love be so blind...
33 ..sent a letter to me, she said to hurry home, I need you right away...
34 ..I know your daddy don't mind, and your mommy don't mind, if we have another dance, yeah, just a one more..one more time...
35 ..girl, how can I live through this, when you're all I wake up for each day...
36 ..well she got her daddy's car and she cruised through the hamburger stand now...
37 ..Frank Zappa and the Mothers, had the best place around; some stupid with a flare gun, burned the place to the ground...
38 ..shall we talk a while; would you like, some of my, tangerine; I know I'd never treat you mean...
39 ..now hey you mister, can't you read; you've gotta have a shirt and tie to get a seat...
40 ..'cause I'm lonely and I'm blue, and I need your love, too; come on and...
41 ..what goes up, must come down...
42 ..just when I thought I was over you, just when I thought I could stand on my own; oh baby, those memories come crashing through...
43 ..better get back to the woods, well I, quit those days, and my, red neck ways...
44 ..remember me to one who lives there, she once was, a true love of mine...
45 ..hey girl, I bet you, there's someone out to get you; you'll find him anywhere, on a bus, in a bar, in a grocery store...
46 ..gotta get down to it, soldiers are cutting us down, should'a been gone long ago...
47 ..darlin', if you want me to love, love only you, then love only me...
48 ..she comes around here, just about midnight; she makes me feel so good, lord, she makes me feel alright; and her name is...
49 ..I took her home, to my place; watchin' every move on her face...
50 ..well I gave it all, to a child of God; he was walkin' along the road and I asked him tell me where are you goin'...
51 ..we tried to talk it over, but the words came out too rough...
52 ..wash away my troubles, wash away my pain, with the rain of...
53 ..blue eyes and a pony tail; cheeks are rosey, she looks a little nosey, man, this little girl is fine...
54 ..all of a sudden that old rain's fallin' down, and my world is cloudy with rain; you've gone away...

01..a time of love, a time of hate, a time of war, a time of peace...
02..if you think you found someone you love for evermore; then it's worth the price you'll have to pay...
03..he's gonna buy me a diamond ring; and if that diamond ring won't shine, he's gonna surely break this heart of
mine...
04 ..I still feel the motion here at home in bed..I tell you it's hard for me to stay away; you ain't been till you...
05 ..you smiled at me and really eased the pain; now the dark days are gone and the bright days are here...
06 ..the smile from your lips brings the summer sunshine; the tears from your eyes bring the rain...
07 ..close your eyes girl; look inside girl; let the sound take you away...
08 ..people talking without speaking; people hearing without listening; people writing songs that voices never share...
09 ..I guess I'll go on home, it's late; there'll be tomorrow night, but wait..what do I see...
10 ..each time I saw him I couldn't wait to see him again; I wanted to let him know that he was more than a friend..
11..when she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed, with a word she can get what she came for...
12 ..is it just for the moment we live?
13 ..if you love her then you must send her somewhere where she's never been before...
14 ..It's right that I should care about you; try to make you happy when you're blue...
15 ..it's written on the wind, it's everywhere I go; so if you really love me, come on and let it show...
16 ..ooh never leave me, please don't deceive me, I want you only, you must believe me...
17 ..but you're my teenage queen; ooh you're the prettiest, lovliest girl I've ever seen...
18 ..with all the charms of a woman, you've kept the secret of your youth...
19 ..down by the river that flows by the coalyards; stand wooden houses with shutters torn down...
20 ..he drinks whiskey Pancho drinks the wine...
21 ..when it's cold outside, I've got the month of May...
22 ..tonight's the night we'll make history; honey, you and I...
23 ..don't you ever leave me sad and blue; don't you ever tell me we are through...
24 ..each time we part, my heart wants to die; darling hear my prayer...
25 ..so here's to the golden moon, and here's to the silver sea, and mostly here's a toast to you and me...
26 ..look around you; look up here; take time to make time make time to be there...
27 ..she stays, love grows, under my umbrella; all that summer we enjoyed it, wind and rain and shine...
28 ..paint your palette blue and gray; look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the darkness in my soul...
29 ..they think our love is just a growin' thing, why don't they understand, it's just a cryin' shame...
30 ..and the white knight is talking backward, and the red queen's on her head; remember, what the doorknob said...
31 ..I met her in a pub down in old Soho where you drink champaign and it tastes just like cherry co-la...
32 ..who's trippin' down the streets of the city, smilin' at everybody she sees...
33 ..and the woman that she was, drove her on to desperation, and I saw as she went, a most hopeless situation...
34 ..4 of them want to own me; 2 of them want to stone me; 1 says she's a friend of mine...
35 ..they say I'm crazy but I have a good time; I'm just lookin' for clues at the scene of the crime...
36 ..something happened to my heart the day that I met you; something that I never felt before...
37 ..make it simple to last your whole life long; don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear...
38 ..well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder...
39 ..well I'm New York city born and raised, but now days I'm lost between two shores...
40 ..everytime I see your face it reminds me of the places we used to go...
41 ..Oh say can you see my eyes if you can then my...
42 ..such a pretty face should be dressed in lace...
43 ..but how many times do I have to tell you darlin' darlin', I'm still in love with you now...
44 ..I rode my bicycle past your window last night; I roller skated to your door at daylight...
45 ..at last, we're face to face, and as we kiss, through an embrace...
46 ..down at the Jordan..John a-baptising..and savin' all sinners...
47 ..just listen to the music of the traffic in the city; linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty...
48 ..when I was younger so much younger than today...
49 ..when he got there the conductor told him one more nickle, Charlie couldn't get off of that train...
50 ..you don't know how many times I wished that I had told you; you don't know how many times I wished that I could
hold you...
51 ..she stood there laughing; I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more...
52 ..funny, I been there, and you been here; we ain't had no time to drink that beer...

Three Little Words

No, not the excellent movie from 1950 staring Fred Astaire and Red Skelton. Not even the heart-tugging book by Ashley Rhodes-Courter and especially not even the 1930 Duke Ellington – Ruby and Kalmar song redone so well by Nat King Cole.

But rather three little words most of us hope to hear one day. Words that can mean almost more than anything to each of us trying to find that one in millions to share them with – words that can give us a reason to live life.

It’s not like those three little words are meant for everyone. Sadly, some will never choose to say them to anyone even though they may have thought about it. It’s not three little words spoken as an after thought like thank you or have a nice day. It’s three little words you’ve waited to hear for years or wanted to say to a special someone but you weren’t sure in this life you ever would.

You can shout them out in a burst of unbridled joy or tearful glee. You can sing them out loud to someone special. You know you want to tell your family and friends you’ve waited so long to be able to say them. In a happy, thank you dancing in the street world, you can even pass them on to people you meet. You especially could stand in the middle of a busy street in New York City and yell them to the world.

It’s like the feelings we had in the sixties when flower power and similar, free expressions were the sway for a while but now you really realize just how much they actually mean at this moment in time.

And especially you can say them with truly sincere feelings to the one you hope to spend the rest of your life with – one that understands their true meaning who can and will share that happiness with you. And you know there is nothing that can compare to those three little words.

You’ve thought about them for so long you can’t remember a time when you never wanted to say them. They went through your head like lyrics to a favorite song repeating over and over but the time was never right until now…now, that one absolutely delicious moment when you can say those three little words out loud: Trump Is Dead!
