In a normal scenario a POTUS could be allowed all the time he needs to recover. But this close to an election, will that tip the balance with the GOP to handing over the reigns to Pence? I know you say "Trump would never" but in 2018 I had a flu, nothing compared to this, that was so bad I would have signed over my car.

could get sympathy. A liked, but ineffective or clumsy POTUS like Ford could get it.

People don't develop sympathy for someone they despise. Probably over 50 percent of this country is crossing their fingers he at least is forced to resign and for my own thoughts, I have not processed it yet. Still thinking about the election.
