I was listening to a radio station yesterday that had a lawyer on. He said he counted 3 times where trump provided admissions of guilt to the DOJs investigations. Basically, as of now, indictments should be free and clear to issued.

I just heard today in my state that a drunk driver pulled a gun on the cop that pulled him over and killed him.
If this became a pandemic across the nation the cops and their union, of all people, would be the ones to strong arm all of congress to get the guns off the streets. Once that blue line was getting a blunt of mass shooter targets, they would shut it down in a hurry using the strength of the union.
I'm not wishing for this to happen, just stating that this is probably what would finally get the needle to move.
