I'm glad the constitution didn't instruct us to fire off our largest cannon on midnight every year on July 4th to commemorate our founding. We'd have to now explode a hydrogen bomb every year.
I hope my above metaphor is understood for the problem with the 2nd amendment. (Muskets compared AR15s)

I just want 10 round clips or less. Pass legislation to make all clips over that illegal. They will turn in or destroy the large clips they have, they don't want to go to prison for criminal possession. They are cowards, and terrified of prison!
Reasons this could work:
- No infringement on 2A rights
- High enough capacity for any home protection scenario
- High enough capacity for any target practice
- Semi Autos can still remain in your posession

is part of the constitution. It was written for a world hundreds of years in the past. The father's could not of known the types of weapons available to citizens today.
It's like putting a stagecoach owners manual in a brand new Tesla.

Just finished the series for the second time. One of the best series ever!
Roger Sterling's one liner are awesome.
Don Draper's Dad throwing a drifter off his front porch, saying " I'd tell you to go to hell, but I never want to see you again" LOL.

If I could change the world, this is how I would make the Supreme Court picks. I know this could never happen, but;
Each party would get and maintain 4 Supreme Court justices. If there's a death, or retirement they and only they get to pick the replacement. Dems get 4, repubs get 4.
Whoever holds the Whitehouse gets to pick a term justice. One that's on all the way through the president's 4 or 8 year stint.
Votes would then not only be for president, but the SC majority. This majority would sway back and forth as the elections do, the SC wouldn't be monopolized for 20+ years, as it is today.
|
What even made the SC review the case at all? Is it their job to just pull cases out at any given time and re- judge them?
To me, this is the definition of legislating from the bench!

I was fishing with my boss about 8 years ago (previous job) I knew he was a right winger. He told me the exact time the world starting going bad was when the women's lib movement started. He and 80+% of his type truly believe this. This abortion decision really doesn't have to do with babies.
P S. I didn't say nothing to him, because he was my boss, just took another cast and mouthed to myself "WTF."

I just read a OP about possibility of the GOP having blackmail footage/material on all their members to get them to fall in line.
Maybe Dems use this as psy ops. Make adds showing blurred Cawthorn tape and anything else they can find. Have it directed at all Repubs. Ask them, is this how you want your life controlled? Tell them the repub masters will seek out your skeletons and use them to keep you in line. Remind them that Cawthorn is a trump cheer leader (no one is safe).
Maybe some will spook and re-think/ retire. Maybe some new candidates will get 2nd thoughts about running.

Now that Roe is gone, think about how even more extreme the campaigns and fundy talk will get. They now lost their boogy man (Abortion) for campaigns, they'll have to promise something even MORE extreme to keep the base voting.
