Shortly after the cruise missile attacks on Sevastopol, warships are seen escorting 2 Russian Government linked ships across the Black Sea. These ships were likely attacked by Ukrainian maritime drones (USVs) just hours earlier.

Two Russian ships, the tanker Yaz and the suspected arms runner Ursa Major, are headed to Istanbul where they will leave the Black Sea. Evidence suggests that, at the same time as the cruise missile attack on Sevastopol, they were targeted by Ukrainian maritime drones.

The first indications of the attack, shared with Naval News, came before 3am local time on September 13. By morning imagery of fierce fires in Sevastopol were coming in, and it soon emerged that two Russian Navy vessels were hit. The cruise missile attack on Sevastopol got world attention. A Russian Navy landing ship and a submarine were damaged, possibly destroyed.
Taking these vessels out of the fight is a significant success for Ukraine. But there is a lot which has been going less reported. Ukraine also attempted to thwart Russia’s vital weapons and military fuel supplies which flow in and out of the Black Sea.
Simultaneously with the cruise missile strike there was an attack by Ukrainian USVs (maritime drones). It is likely that the USVs (uncrewed surface vessels) were targeting key Russian ships sailing across the Black Sea.

Russian Air defenses are systematically being destroyed in Crimea. It appears it has lost the ability to defend itself from Ukraine's drones and missiles.
Of course, Security Chief General Budanov is not commenting.

Damaging a Russian landing ship and a submarine of the type that launches missiles at civilian targets in Ukraine. They may have used missiles rather than drones since the payloads appear to have been large.

Reports are the sub was destroyed. One of only four the russians are using. Elon Musk must be hiding under his desk because putin once told him WW 3 would break out if something like this happened. The transport ship was probably used to transport large amounts of supplies.
Perhaps the most significant thing is that Russia had no air defense guarding the base of its black sea fleet.
If, and it's a big if, Ukraine can keep this up, thay can eliminate the russian navy from this area of the Black Sea.

Major Hurricane Lee will continue to grow in size after a crucial northward turn midweek which will determine the extent and severity of its impact on the Northeast, New England, Bermuda and Canada.
Lee was a 120-mph, Category 3 hurricane on Monday, located well north of the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico in the Atlantic Ocean. It is expected to weaken, grow in size and speed up after it makes its northward turn in the coming days.
Although it may be weaker, a larger storm has the potential to impact a more widespread area, increasing the likelihood that Lee will affect the Eastern Seaboard – even it’s not in the form of a direct landfall.
“Even as the peak winds come down, the wind field of Lee is going to continue to grow in size,” National Hurricane Center Director Michael Brennan said in a Monday storm briefing. “We could see the tropical storm-force winds expand by 50 to 60 to 70%.”

The hospitals are NOT filling up with Covid patients
The latest figures available are from Aug 27. when 9722 are hospitalized with Covid. Many of those are simply testing positive when they come into the hospital.
By comparison last Jan.6the number of Covid patients was 48200
On January 7, 2022 the number was 159207

And yet our test positivity rate is one of the highest of the Covid era: about 14% (I assume all of these are hospital tests)

That is also true for most high-risk people, Jha pointed out, including older adults — such as his parents, who are in their 80s — and people whose immune systems are compromised. “Even for most — not all, but most — immunocompromised people, vaccines are actually still quite effective at preventing against serious illness,” he said. “There has been a lot of bad information out there that somehow if you’re immunocompromised that vaccines don’t work.”
That excess deaths have fallen close to zero helps to make this point: If COVID were still a dire threat to large numbers of people, that would show up in the data.

Hurricane Lee to affect East Coast

As Hurricane Lee fluctuates in intensity over open Atlantic waters, its effects may soon be felt at beaches up and down the East Coast in the form of life-threatening rip currents and dangerous shoreline conditions.
Lee is forecast to continue moving well north of Puerto Rico, the British and US Virgin Islands and the northern Leeward Islands, but it will have an impact there and at other Caribbean islands. It remains too early to determine its long-term track for later this week and how significant the impacts could be for northeastern US states, Bermuda and Atlantic Canada.
The East Coast, however, is expected to face large swells and rip currents in an increasing manner through this week – much as the Caribbean is being affected now.
