Neither Jill Stein (Green Party) Nor Bernie Sanders (Independent) Are Calling for Impeachment [View all]

I know there are some folks who are suggesting that the Democratic party should focus on impeachment or lose progressive support, but the fact of the matter is that the aggressive voices on impeachment are already coming from Democrats like Al Green or folks like billionaire Tom Steyer.

Comrade Jill Stein and the Green Party have been very quiet about impeachment. Often cited progressive critics of the Democratic party like Cornel West and Susan Sarandon are mum about impeaching Trump choosing instead to continue to attack Democrats by name-calling them as neo-liberals even though Democrats are out of power in DC. Finally, even Bernie Sanders, who often rails against Trump's corruption is trying to tamp down impeachment talk.

Indeed, many of the groups that are supposedly to the left of mainstream Democrats have been pretty quiet about impeaching Trump despite the lawlessness and obvious corruption of the Trump administration.

Sanders: Congress shouldn’t jump the gun on Trump impeachment

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday warned against “jumping the gun” in pursuing impeachment charges against President Donald Trump and maintained that any potential proceedings should not be partisan.

“I think there is a process that has to be followed,” the Vermont independent said on NBC's “Meet the Press,” urging Democrats to wait for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation on Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 election to play out before starting any kind of formal impeachment process.

“I think Mr. Mueller is doing a very good job on his investigation,” Sanders said. “If Mueller brings forth the clear evidence that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, I think you have grounds for impeachment.”

California businessman Tom Steyer has launched a multimillion-dollar campaign of television ads calling for Trump to be impeached, drawing the ire of some top Democrats.
