29. Actually, a Democrat was elected in Alabama because we showed how depraved

the Republican candidate really was AND GOT DEMOCRATS OUT TO VOTE.

There is the problem: Democrats are in the majority but don't vote.

We have to have candidates that speak to the problems and interests of voters and not of the donors. If we pick the right candidates, Democrats will get out and vote for them. And Democrats who can govern wisely will then be in charge.

We have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't win elections. We Democrats are in the majority in the country. But if we nominate boring pseudo-Democrats who don't speak clearly to the issue of declining wages and the excessive power of employers and oligarchs, we will continue to lose.

Why is it that employers in so many states in our country have the right to fire employees at will?

Let's start there. Employees should have a right to a fair hearing when terminated even if there is no discrimination based on race, gender, age, etc. Our law gives employers far too many rights in the workplace.

That's an issue no one seems to want to approach. But we Democrats should approach it. It would not only help employees get a fair chance but it would improve the work ethic because the employee who does not make an effort in the workplace would have no one but himself to blame when justly fired.

This is just one issue a strong Democratic Party and candidates could deal with.
