President Donald Trump on Thursday attacked his own administrations position on foreign surveillance legislation because of a segment he watched on Fox & Friends and then quickly walked it back just an hour later.
I have personally directed the fix to the unmasking process since taking office and todays vote is about foreign surveillance of foreign bad guys on foreign land, Trump wrote in response to an earlier tweet he sent out Thursday morning. We need it! Get smart!
Earlier in the morning, Trump undermined the White Houses position on renewing Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act after a Fox & Friends segment suggested that this act was used to conduct warrantless spying on Trumps campaign.
House votes on controversial FISA ACT today,' the president wrote, quoting directly from the Fox segment. This is the act that may have been used, with the help of the discredited and phony Dossier, to so badly surveil and abuse the Trump Campaign by the previous administration and others?
As CNNs Kaitlan Collins pointed out, the White House on Wednesday night issued a statement urging Congress to preserve the useful role FISAs Section 702 authority plays in protecting American lives which means Fox & Friends effectively tricked Trump into contradicting his own administration.
