In reply to the discussion: What difference does it really make if donald's dr. lied or not? [View all]gratuitous
(82,849 posts)Justice Scalia suddenly dropped dead on a little junket, which isn't all that surprising for a 79-year-old obese smoker of sedentary habits. Yet it became fodder for all kinds of dark rumors about how Scalia had been rubbed out by shadowy forces. The ridiculousness came to nothing, mostly because Trump got to name Scalia's successor instead of Obama.
But if Trump suddenly keels over on the eighth fairway in the next couple of months, there will be an incredible outpouring of ersatz grief, followed swiftly by the wildest of conspiracy theory-mongering. If you think Hannity, Limbaugh, and Jones are unhinged now, you will have seen nothing like how they'll react in the event of Trump's sudden demise. Questions will be raised about Dr. Jackson's examination, whether he poisoned the Dear Leader, why he didn't foresee whatever health risk felled the Great Man, and why aren't Democrats beating their breasts and wearing sackcloth and ashes? What part did Hillary play in this?
There will be any number of nutjobs who are right on the ragged edge who will go over if Trump dies in office. How many they'll take with them is anyone's guess. Any lies or omissions by the doctor will certainly make a difference to the surviving friends and families of the perpetrators and the victims.
